We always see the best hairstyles on our television screens, inspiring envy in those who don’t usually push it beyond a ponytail.
However, a lot of these looks are much easier to pull off than they might first seem. We’ve picked three iconic star hairstyles, and here you’ll find how to master them in minutes
Bridgerton’s Siena Rosso (Sabrina Bartlett)
With period dramas like Bridgerton becoming such a phenomenon, so too have the eccentric and fabulous hairstyles that are featured in it. Who doesn’t want perfect, voluminous curls that ooze glamour?
“Sabrina’s hair looks were created using a three-quarter wig, so the front hairline and top were all Sabrina’s own hair,” says Hollywood stylist Marc Pilcher.
“The wig was set on wooden dowelling sticks, [which] I spiralled the hair around to achieve the curl texture, and with her own hair, I set it the same way but with a heated tong – an essential part of any period hairdresser’s kit!”
However, if you want to recreate this at home, Pilcher insists on using a conical wand – a curling iron with a thicker top and thinner end.
“Ensure you spiral the hair around the thin tong halfway down the shaft, and then roll the hair back on itself and hold it taut,” he says.

The Hunger Games’ Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence)
Although Katniss was from the poor districts in the film, Hollywood hairstylist Linda Flowers says she created her textured plait for practicality, but also for some girly glam to offset her tomboy character.
“To achieve this at home, start with spraying a dry shampoo at the base of the hair to create lift and movement,” she says.
“Next, apply a curl-defining cream to your hair and scrunch dry for texture. Follow with a regular or French braid around the head to achieve the Katniss look. The bonus is when you take the braid out – you will get a beautiful zig-zag wave that can be worn that night or the next day, which you can set and refresh again with a curl cream.”

Friends’ Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston)
It was the haircut that defined the ’90s and now that trends from that era are back again, it only makes sense to resurrect the iconic “Rachel” cut.
If you haven’t had a haircut in a while, a quick trip to the stylist will give you a new look with shape and structure – and plenty of grow-out potential, just like Jennifer Aniston’s famed ’do.
When it comes to her enviable colour, it’s all about the upkeep.
Aniston had hers touched up every five weeks, but you can keep yours fresh with a good toning shampoo and conditioner.
