Kate Middleton and Prince William dazzle for a date night at the Tusk gala

Leaving their royal brood at home, Prince William and Kate Middleton stepped out for a very glamorous affair.

On Thursday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, stayed at home at Kensington Palace while the royals attended Tusk’s gala.

The Prince, who is a royal patron for the charity, looked dashing in his tux, but all eyes gravitated to his wife.

Astute royal watchers will recount the royal first wore the dress, back in 2012 for a gala at The Royal Albert Hall to kick off the London 2012 Olympic celebrations.

Six years ago she opted to pin up her locks, but this time round she styled her hair in her signature bouncy blowout.

The gala was held for The Tusk Conservation Awards, which took place at Banqueting House, in London.

The couple took the opportunity at the reception to introduce them to nominees in the annual awards and supporters of the conservation charity.

William, who made a speech, has been an active supporter of Tusk for many years – taking it on as he royal patronage back in 2005.

Tusk has been at the forefront of fighting the illegal wildlife trade and the annual Tusk Conservation Awards mark the achievements of extraordinary people who protect Africa’s natural heritage.
