This season we’ll be seeing a variety of trends trackside. To make sure you don’t get too carried away, it’s always great to start with a specific style or trend in mind.

Remember to go with something which will make you feel and look confident, as that is key. Some possible trends to think about include feminine pastels, gold, 90’s glam, sophisticated suiting and bold colours.

Allow yourself some time to find the perfect outfit because heading to the shops the day before will usually result in over spending and ending up with something you don’t love.

Think of the racing culture as well, as there are many racing traditions and rules when it comes to outfits, like no mini skirts and no midriffs or cutouts.

If you are keeping the outfit simple, then try experimenting with accessories and millinery. When it comes to millinery we are seeing a variety of pieces worn from headbands to hats and bows.

Sydney based milliner Nerida Winter says she is “so excited to be able to be creative and experiment with different materials and styles.”

Winter says she also loves “to create traditional pieces with a modern twist.”

Her No. 1 tip for getting the best headpiece is to always start with the outfit and go from there. Winter offers custom made pieces as well as a ready-to-wear collection which she creates every season.
