Taylor Swift at the CMAs: A History

Just months after releasing her first single, “Tim McGraw,” an up-and-coming country starlet named Taylor Swift hits the red carpet at the 40th annual CMA Awards in Nashville.

A year later, it’s the same curls, but a bolder dress. 

Fearless just released, Swift has every reason to sparkle. With “Love Story” climbing the charts and her second album 

Swift nabs four awards this year, including the coveted entertainer of the year.

Now a bona fide superstar, Swift hits the carpet with extra confidence. 

At her last CMA Awards before making the transition to pop, Swift takes home four trophies, including the Pinnacle Award. She’s only the second star to receive the honour — which recognises success in ticket and record sales — following Garth Brooks’s win in 2005

After a two-year hiatus — in which she has a string of pop hits — Swift returns to the CMAs stage to present Garth Brooks with the entertainer of the year award.
