Detectives from the State Crime Command's Criminal Groups Squad have released CCTV footage of the botched assassination attempt, urging anyone who might have details to come forward.

"As part of their inquiries, investigators have released CCTV of a man they believe can assist with their inquiries," NSW Police Force wrote on their Facebook page. "The person is depicted as male, between 180cm-190cm tall, of large build, and wearing dark shorts, a white t-shirt, dark hooded vest with white motif on the back, and dark runners with white soles. Anyone who knows the man or has any information about the vehicle is urged to come forward."
The shooting is one of several other gun-related incidents to have shaken Sydney's Western suburbs over the last month. Last week, the NSW Police Force released footage of another masked gunman open firing on a man who was walking into his family home. Earlier this month, another gunman reportedly shot two men at a Five Dock apartment. Only one of the victims survived with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
