Andrew Tate gained sudden internet notoriety in early 2022 after his controversial ‘self-help’ videos started trending on TikTok.

After a recent internet feud with 19-year-old environmental activist, Greta Thunberg, it was reported on December 30 that Andrew and his brother Tristan Tate were arrested during a police raid of their Romanian mansion.

A criminal investigation, which commenced in April of 2022, determined their arrest- which allegedly pertains to human trafficking charges.

Speaking to The Daily Mirror, a spokesperson for the Tate brothers said, “We cannot provide any details at the moment regarding alleged reports that they have been detained; however, Andrew and Tristan Tate have the utmost respect for the Romanian authorities and will always assist and help in any way they can.”

According to Romanian prosecutors, the pair, “appear to have created an organised crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content.”

“They would have gained important sums of money,” the prosecutors said.

It was a mere few days ago that Andrew Tate was flaunting his monetary prowess on Tin a targeted dig at environmental activist, Greta Thunberg.

The former kickboxer and Big Brother contestant has a plethora of sexist scandals under his belt but, more recently, his Twitter feud with environmental activist Greta Thunberg has taken the internet by storm.

After a majority of his social media accounts were formally banned and deleted, the self-proclaimed “Top G” has filtered his media presence into Twitter after the new owner, Elon Musk, gave free reign to all accounts under the guise of “free speech.”

Prior to this formal ousting, Tate garnered significant retaliation for his obscene misogynistic comments, including that sexually active women are “used goods”, and women are a “man’s property.”

Tate and Thunberg’s Twitter feud was first sparked when the former posted a taunting message directed towards the latter.

Replying to his own Tweet with a seemingly self-edited chauvinistic compilation video, it didn’t take long for Thunberg to clap back.

In a succinct message, she wrote, “yes, please do enlighten me. email me at smalld***[email protected]” which amassed a total of two million likes within its first 14 hours of posting.

Following her viral clapback, Tate had more messages to share of his own.

After sharing a two-minute response video, the 36-year-old continued on by Retweeting a series of praise towards himself- where one of which was sexually allusive.

Thunberg has not responded further.
