He had previously assured the media that, “ If she is not here, she can Skype them and whenever she feels the need or wants to come over.”

The plight of Ms. Faulkner’s international custody battle reached worldwide attention after she accompanied 60 minutes to Lebanon in an attempt to snatch back her children, Noah, 3, and Lahela, 5 from Mr. Elamine.

Following the botched kidnapping, the mother of three was arrested and hauled up in a Lebanese jail, alongside 60 minutes reporter Tara Brown. In exchange for abduction charges against herself and the 60 minutes crew being dropped, Ms. Faulkner relinquished all custody rights for her children to her ex.

The source now claims that contact between the pair has severed. “No Skype, no photos, blocked on WhatsApp.” Mr Elamine is apparently also not taking her phone calls.Prior to her arrest in Beirut, Ms. Faulkner had full custody of Noah and Lahela under Australian law. She also has a young, three month old baby with a new Australian partner, Brendan Pierce.

When farewelling her offspring in Lebanon, Ms. Faulkner’s daughter gave her a Barbie ring, “This is so you don’t forget me.”

During the kidnapping and custody ordeal, her ex acknowledged that the children would like to be with their mother. It is believed a significant amount of financial settlement was paid to the watersports instructor as compensation for the charges being dropped.

The recovery agents who engineered the kidnapping are still awaiting their fate in Lebanon.
