According to a spokesperson for the Alliance for Gambling Reform (AGR), the celebrity pair are promoting ‘a gateway to gambling addiction’.

Earlier this week, both the former AFL player and the reality star took to Instagram to show their fans how to use the Slotomania app, encouraging followers to download the game.

‘This awful game being promoted by Dom Thomas and Brendan Fevola is a gateway to gambling addiction and a very real concern with so many of us staying at home during the COVID-19 crisis,’ AGR’s Reverend Tim Costello told The Daily Telegraph.

‘It’s incredibly disappointing to see Brendan promoting this given his own gambling issues. He should know better and he shouldn’t want anyone else to go through what he did in losing his fortune to gambling.’

Brendan has been open about his past gambling addiction. In a 2017 interview he confessed to losing $360,000 in four days whilst betting on horses.

Both Brendan and Dom included download links to the app in their Instagram Stories.

‘Me and mates would go to pub normally and have a beer, have a bit of a slap,’ Dom said in his video.

‘This here is perfect because you can spin from home for one but also it’s not real money so you are not actually gambling.’
