Fans have been left devastated by former Hi-5 star Nathan Foley’s sudden elimination from Nine’s The Voice.
The 39-year-old star may have impressed the judges with his performance of ‘Footloose’ during his blind audition last week, but judges Delta Goodrem, Kelly Rowland, Guy Sebastian and Boy George didn’t think Nick had what it takes to continue on in the singing competition, and he was cruelly axed on Monday night.
Watch the devastating moment Nathan Foley is axed from The Voice:
In the tense elimination, Delta saved All Star contestant Sheldon Riley, while Kelly picked Luke Zanc.
And social media was awash with disappointment at The Voice judges decision to axe the Australian star in the knockout round.
‘Nathan should have stayed. Someone give him a recording contact please!’ lamented one Twitter user.
Meanwhile others ranted: ‘Ugh I feel so ripped off. They needed to give Nathan Foley more of a chance!’ and ‘Okay, Nathan’s gone time to switch to another channel’.
The Voice was the comeback that the former children’s entertainer was hoping for, having dropped out of the spotlight after joining Hi-5 in the late 90s at just 18-years-old.
