Veteran actor Jim Nabors, who was best known for bringing to life the character Gomer Pyle on The Andy Griffith Show in the 1960s has died at Hawaii home on November 30.
Speaking to CBS News, Nabors’ long-time partner Stan Cadwallader revealed that the actor’s health took a turn for the worse following Thanksgiving celebrations. Following a series of tests on November 29, it was decided that he be brought home from the hospital.
The coroner is yet to release Nabors’ cause of death, however, Cadwallader told the publication it appears to be from natural causes.
Nabors and Cadwallader met in 1975 when Cadwallader was a Honolulu firefighter and the couple went on to marry in January 2013.
