Exciting news for TV buffs – Jessica Marais is making her return to the small screen along with fellow acclaimed stars, Anthony LaPaglia and Rebecca Gibney in the return of Nine’s crime thriller mini-series Halifax: Retribution.
Gibney will reprise her role as forensic psychiatrist Jane Halifax in the reboot, which is set to start filming in Melbourne later this month.
“I am so excited to be working with Rebecca again, and on such an iconic drama,” Marais said in a statement released by Nine today.
Meanwhile, Gibney said she was delighted to be reprising her iconic role.
“I am beyond excited to be breathing new life into Jane Halifax as she was and still is one of my favourite characters, and I always believed there was so much more we could explore with her,” she said.
“Having grown as a woman and hopefully as an actor over the last 20 years I’m really looking forward to exploring Jane’s world from a new perspective.”
“I’m also thrilled to be reuniting with Anthony LaPaglia, my co-star in Mental, and of course the spectacular Jessica Marais. Both are formidable talents and excellent humans so I know we will have a fantastic time on the shoot.”
Jacqueline McKenzie, Rick Donald, Hannah Monson, Craig Hall, Mavournee Hazel and Louisa Mignone will also star in the Nine production.
