BREAKING NEWS: Kate Ritchie husband Stuart Webb banned from approaching her

Kate Ritchie’s husband, former NRL player Stuart Webb, is banned from approaching his wife for at two weeks.

The NSW courts extended an application for an apprehended violence order, with the case resuming on November 7.

The temporary apprehended violence order was extended for 14 days after a short hearing.

A lawyer for Webb appeared in front of a magistrate at Waverley Court and the order was extended for two more weeks.  

The temporary court order states that Webb cannot go near his wife for at “least 12 hours after drinking alcohol or taking illicit drugs”.

Neither Stuart nor Kate showed up to the hearing.

A court listing in the NSW criminal court shows the matter will be heard at Waverley Court on October 24.

The actress, under her married name Katherine Leigh Webb, is listed on the application, lodged by Constable Dean Hodges on her behalf. 

An AVO order is typically made by a court is when a person fears for their safety, to protect them from further violence, intimidation or harassment.

Stuart, a former professional NRL player, was arrested earlier in the year for driving under the influence, and faced court in April. 

This was his second drink-driving offence, following an offence seven years earlier. 

The couple has been married since 2010 and together are parents to their four-year-old daughter, Mae.

Ritchie attended the 2019 Australian Commercial Radio Awards in Brisbane, where she walked the red carpet alone. 

Kate is most famous for her long-running role as Sally Fletcher in beloved soap Home & Away, but is more enjoys a career as an award-winning radio broadcaster, and an author of children’s books.

Kate’s representatives have been contacted for comment.
