Giving son Rocket, 13 months, a sibling has been something Worthington, 28, has made no secret of. “Definitely, yeah, yeah,” she told WHO last October when asked if she wanted more children. “You know, creating a little team is awesome.”
Her actor husband Sam Worthington, 39, is “over the moon” at the baby news, the second insider says, and Worthington seems confident of juggling her cosmetics line The Base with two kids under two. She said this month working motherhood is “getting easier” now Rocket is walking and starting to talk, and a friend tells WHO Worthington is “quite relaxed about being pregnant” second time round.
As to how Lara and Sam will make their jet-set life work with two high-powered careers, one son and another due around September, she told WHO “I’m still really into my work but my family is obviously my priority.” Worthington works when Rocket is sleeping, and “we just kind of balance it between us,” she says. “I’m very lucky I can work from home.”
With bases in New York, Los Angeles and Hawaii, the family is always on the go—Rocket’s passport, Lara told WHO, “is, like, stamps”, and the new baby’s will probably be the same. Wherever they are in the world, she likes to make “awesome food” for her son, she said, and “Sam likes to read to him before he goes to bed.”
Will the luxe gypsy life be harder with two children? Maybe, but Worthington told WHO she and the family aren’t ready to put roots down in one place: “You know, maybe when we’re 80, but I get so inspired by travel.”
