We’re just weeks away from the opening episode of the 2020 season of Married At First Sight. However, this won’t be the first time one of the contestants has been on TV.

Newly unearthed footage reveals MAFS season seven groom, Mikey Pembroke once made an appearance on now axed TV show Deal Or No Deal back in 2013.
Resurfaced footage from the soon-to-be reality star’s Instagram shows Mikey, now 29, greeting host Andrew O’Keefe with a hug before dancing around the stage.
“Flashback Friday to deal or no deal #fail,” he captioned one post, which was uploaded in 2015 but appears to be from an episode in 2013.
On another he added: “After double value cases and a second chance … It was very upsetting 😞😞😞 oh well.”
Mikey’s previous girlfriend, fitness influencer Katie Williams also had a brush with TV fame, appearing on the first season of Australian Ninja Warrior in 2017.
On Channel Nine’s official website, Mikey is described as a “private school boy from Sydney’s leafy north shore”.
“Although Mikey has always enjoyed the spoils of an affluent upbringing, he is genuine and open-minded, with a solid work ethic,” his bio reads.
“He recently stepped up to help run the family business: a nursing home that his grandfather founded.”
