It was the episode Married At First Sight fans were waiting for – Dean Wells finally admitted he cheated on Tracey Jewel, after a steamy affair with fellow contestant Davina Rankin.
Before the explosive commitment ceremony begun, Davina admits that she’s going to go into the meeting and declare that she has fallen for Dean.
“The kind of connection that Dean and I have is exactly what I was wanting to find coming into this experiment,” she said.
“It’s not ideal that we found it with each other, considering we’re both already married. I’m very anxious to tell Ryan about it, mainly because I just don’t want anyone to get hurt. So tonight is extra stressful for me because I’m going to have to tell everyone and confess that Dean and I have been talking.”
But before she can give away any details, Dean, 39, beats Davina to it as he opened up about their recent affair and confirmed it was a mistake as he was now interested in his TV wife, Tracey.
“After the dinner party, things got a bit heated and, yeah, we ended up being intimate last night,” the 39-year-old revealed in the group setting. Before we admitted “shifted” between himself and Tracey at the dinner party.
“Earlier in the week, Davina and I got chatting and we decided to catch up for a drink and just talk about what’s happening with you [Tracey] and I, and she wasn’t happy with Ryan. We met up and we had a talk and we had a drink and, yeah, it started off pretty innocently but pretty quickly we realised there was a bit of an attraction there, ” he stated.
“Davina told me she was kinda into me and maybe if things didn’t work out with you and I, there might be something there.”
However, it appears Dean had changed his mind last minute, or rather, after an intimate experience with single mum Tracey,.
“I’ve been on the ‘no intimacy’ rule for this week, but last night one thing led to another, and we were intimate and it was much more than just sex,” he says, like he’s just had an epiphany. “It was, for the first time, really, it was intense. I hate to say it, maybe the experts are kind of on to something.”
At this stage, a disappointed Davina interrupted: “Can I cut in? This is before I kind of can see you for who you are now. For you to tell me that you’re into me and have a talk with me last night — tell me that you’re gonna sit here and talk to Tracey and tell her that it’s not happening, [and that] you really like me….You said to me there’s no spark with Tracey.”
To which, Dean replied: “Our attraction is, I feel, a little bit more of a superficial thing,” Dean tells Davina. “Last night, chatting with you, it made me really appreciate what I have with Tracey, and that’s kind of what shifted.”
If that drama wasn’t enough for viewers, Dean and Tracey have a private chat and after they return to the couch, Tracey reveals she’s willing to give Dean another shot.
