Congratulations are in order! The Bachelor’s very own Maty J and Laura Byrne have officially tied the knot.
The couple, who met during the 2017 season of Australia’s favourite reality dating show got engaged in 2019.
The parents of two have been open about their delayed wedding – following a sweet proposal in Fiji in 2019, the couple were planning on a 2020 wedding but COVID got in the way.
Laura then took to Instagram in 2021 to share that they had also planned to get married on November 12th yet COVID had once again put a stop to their plans.
But now, after some fun bachelor and bachelorette parties, the couple have tied the knot during a beautiful ceremony on the south coast.
The couple spoke exclusively with WHO before their wedding, chatting about all things decor, kids and location.

Where did Matty and Laura get married?
The wedding was held just outside of Mollymook at Cupitt’s winery. The couple fell in love with the spot a few years ago and couldn’t get the venue out of their minds!
“We thought ‘gosh this would be such a good place to get married,’ so we inquired and that was it, we didn’t look anywhere else,” Explained Laura.
Thanks to the big, open space, the venue is also great for the kid-friendly wedding.
“It’s got a great area for kids to run around on the grass, we wanted somewhere that’s big enough and comfortable enough that all the kids can have a great day as well,” Laura shared.
“I feel like oftentimes you have weddings and kids aren’t invited but… the kids are kind of taking over our wedding!
Who attended the wedding?
The couple’s two daughters played an integral part in the wedding, with Marlie 3, and Lola, 20 months both walking down the aisle as flower girls.
“We’ll have a procession of children in the wedding,” explained Laura. “We have our girls Lola and Marlie and also Archer and George are our page boys and Millie and Charlotte and Tasmin are fower girls and Buster our dog is in it so it’s a procession of kids and animals and then we’ll come down last.”
Laura’s friend, business partner and podcast co-host Brittany Hockley was also in attendance, with the Bachelor star also sharing sweet updates on social media throughout the wedding.
Where was Laura’s dress from?
KYHA studios designed Laura’s stunning address. “She’s a Melbourne-based designer” explained Laura, “she’s been so awesome.”
“I had a couple of fittings but she made the whole experience so awesome and beautiful. I had my yes to the dress moment…”
“The dress is very beautiful and traditional but with a modern twist thanks to the sheer waist panels. It feels very me.”
