Osher Günsberg has opened up about his battle with alcohol.
In an interview with Hello Sunday Morning, The Bachelor host detailed his unhealthy relationship with alcohol which led him to go completely sober, which he has been for almost eight years.
“I knew my relationship with alcohol was unhealthy when every single time I drank, something I did not feel okay about happened,” Günsberg explained.
“I would hurt someone’s feelings or I would say something that, you know, impacted my career, or I would do something or break something or just generally be not a nice human being to be around and I was unable to stop that.”
The TV presenter revealed that he was “unable to control” when he drank.
“It was no longer a choice to drink. I didn’t think ‘I might have a drink’ it was ‘I have to drink’,” he said.
Günsberg, 43, continued, “Once I started, I was unable to stop.”
After realising his issue with drinking was causing him to lose friends and jobs, Günsberg decided to go sober at 36.
“Bad things stopped happening, it was like magic”.
