Recess voice actor Jason Davis has sadly passed away aged 35, reports confirm today.

The actor – who voiced the character of gentle giant Michael ‘Mickey’ Blumberg on the Disney animated series passed away in Los Angeles, according to a statement.
‘I am so heartbroken to share the saddest news of my life that my son Jason Davis passed away this morning in Los Angeles. Jason had a true heart of gold with such a zest for life,’ his mother Nancy Davis said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.
‘He was such a caring soul to everybody who ever knew him. He loved his friends and his family above all else. We ask for privacy as we take time to grieve this most devastating loss,’ the statement added.
The cause of the star’s death is currently unknown.
Davis appeared in a several movies as a child, including Rush Hour, Beverly Hills Ninja and Mafia!
He voiced the character of Mikey on Recess through its six seasons on air from 1997-2001. He also lent his voice to the character in several spinoff movies.
Davis was the co-founder of Cure Addiction Now and for the past one-and-a-half years, he dedicated himself to the organization, which helps fund research for people suffering from substance abuse.
Jason appeared on the fourth season of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew in 2010 to deal with an addiction to heroin, OxyContin and Xanax.
Davis was the grandson of the late Marvin Davis, the former owner of 20th Century Fox.
