The Daily Edition host Sally Obermeder has revealed she and husband Marcus are expecting another child with the help of a surrogate.
Obermeder, 42, who was cleared of breast cancer in 2012, revealed the exciting news on Instagram on July 28.
She posted a sweet family snap with her husband and daughter Annabelle, 4, who held up a sign, which read: “I’m going to be a big sister.”
Opening up about her struggles to conceive a sibling for Annabelle, who was conceived with the help of IVF, she captioned the shot: “Yes, it’s true. Thrilled to bits to share that @marcusobermeder and I are adding to our family thanks to the most incredible surrogate.
“We have shared our story of ups and downs with the amazing team from Sunday Night.”
Obermeder previously revealed to New Idea magazine that she was unable to have more children herself; after doctors had warned her that another pregnancy could put her life at risk.
“I’ve been told in no uncertain terms that it’s far too dangerous for me to be pregnant again, in terms of the cancer returning,” she said.
“I acknowledge that I’m extremely lucky to have one child … But the yearning and desire to be a mum again is so strong and it has not passed.”
Obermeder was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer one day after giving birth to Annabelle in 2011.
