It’s been months since former Rabbitoh’s legend Sam Burgess denied allegations he’d physically attacked his heavily pregnant wife. But if this Instagram post is anything to go by, the 32-year-old is ready to put the past – and their relationship – behind him.

On Monday, the ex-NRL star was seen cuddling up to nutritionist Jade Spooner in an intimate Instagram post.
“Happy Birthday to this one of a kind,” the blonde beauty wrote in the caption.
In the sweet selfie, both Jade and Sam can be seen wearing grey sweaters, her head resting gently on his shoulder.
While this is the first time the pair have been publicly seen together, Jade, the founder of healthy eating program Equalution, was recently been photographed at an event with several members of Sam’s family. These included his mum Julie and Sydney socialite Tori May, the girlfriend of his older brother Luke.
The sensational claims about the athlete were first published in The Australian after a four-month investigation unveiled medical records, police statements, legal papers, emails and witness accounts detailing his allegedly disturbing behaviour.
The report included text messages Sam’s ex-wife Phoebe sent to the NRL club’s owner, Hollywood actor Russell Crowe, expressing serious concern for her estranged husband’s welfare.
“I thought we had the world at our feet together…,” one read. “He is now being led by his elder brother on a trail of booze, heavy drugs and girls on social media… and some very deep dark demons I just cannot help him with.”
Staff members at the Rabbitohs have been accused of covering up the footballer’s alleged indiscretions, which date back to 2018. Burgess’ lawyer, Mark O’Brien, has denied all claims made against his client. The NRL and NSW Police are now investigating.
Sam and Phoebe separated in December 2018 shortly after welcoming their son, William (Billy), to the world. They also share a daughter, Poppy, 3, together.
Phoebe, 31, has since moved to Bowral to be closer to her parents.
In a recent pic taken in the Southern Highlands, the mum-of-two poses with her daughter, Poppy, 3, and the family cat, while sitting atop a pile of hay bales.
“Finding joy in the little things and my little people …” she captioned the post.
