She’s been absent from our screens for five weeks after suffering a mystery illness. But just days after Samantha Armytage made her return to Sunrise last week, the TV star has made a surprising announcement.

Sam confirmed rumours that she has officially signed up with Sydney publicist Nick Fordham’s agency, The Fordham Company in an interview with The Sunday Telegraph.
‘(I’m) looking forward to working with Nick (Fordham) as he’s a very good operator. Good times ahead!’ she gushed.

Interestingly, Nick also represents Sam’s former breakfast TV rival, Lisa Wilkinson and was instrumental in helping her walk away from Nine and into the arms of the Ten Network after Nine refused to pay her the same amount as her then Today co-host, Karl Stefanovic.

Lisa, who hosts The Project, recently said in a press release for The Fordham Company: ‘When you put yourself in the hands of the Fordham’s, you just don’t get their expert management guidance, you become part of the family.’
Nick also manages the careers of other big names such as Sylvia Jeffreys, Em Rusciano and Lisa Wilkinson’s husband, Peter Fitzsimons.
Sam hadn’t been seen on Sunrise since March 13, with the TV star citing a ‘respiratory infection’ as the reason for her extended hiatus.
‘I don’t have coronavirus, but I’m worried I’ll get it if I don’t get better,’ she stated at the time. ‘Thought it was a good time to lay low’.
