A woman in Queensland has been arrested for the strawberry needle contamination crisis.
The woman, a 50-year-old Queenslander who has been arrested and charged with seven counts contamination of goods under Section 238 Criminal Code, which has a three-year maximum penalty.
The strawberry needle incidents that sparked a nationwide crisis – along with multiple copy cats.
It is believed she was an employee at Berry Licious/Berry Obsession farm in southeast Queensland.
There have been allegations suggesting that she had issues about her treatment within the workplace.
Queensland authorities described the arrest, which was made on Sunday, as the result of a “complex investigation”.
The Queensland Police Service conducted a national investigation with multiple government, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies.
Later today, the woman is set to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court.
