The Irwin family have responded to outraged fans who were left disappointed by the fact Bindi and Chandler Powell’s televised wedding is not due to air for another three months in Australia.

Last week, the newlyweds revealed that Animal Planet would be sharing a one-hour TV special centred around the couple’s whirlwind nuptials during the coronavirus lockdown.
‘Crikey! Thank you to our USA friends for tuning in to our wedding special on Animal Planet,’ Chandler began his post announcing the news.
‘Here are more dates that Animal Planet will be showing it around the world. We will share more air dates as we find out! USA: NOW, Australia: July 18, UK & Ireland: May 3, Taiwan: 23 May, South Korea: July 3.’
He added: ‘Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macao, Mongolia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam: May 18.’
Many fans were quick to take to social media to complain about Australia being one of the last countries on the list to see the couple’s wedding.

‘Why so late on Australia? Shouldn’t this be their equivalent of the royal wedding?’ wrote one hurt fan.
Another commented with a stream of crying emojis, ‘Why do we have to wait until July?’
Shortly after the criticism, Chandler once again took to social media to explain the reason behind the late air date.
“Programming is out of our control as Animal Planet decides when to air the show. We will keep you posted as we find out more air dates!” he wrote on Twitter.
Bindi’s mother, Terri Irwin also took to social media to explain why no air date had been announced for New Zealand.
“We have specifically asked @AnimalPlanet about the scheduled premiere of Bindi and Chandler’s wedding special in New Zealand,” Terri began.
“We love our Wildlife Warriors neighbours! I’m sure they are doing their best to get the show to you as soon as possible. Stay healthy and happy!”
