The Voice is coming back to our screens very soon, with a premiere date much sooner than anyone had hoped for.
Making its’ Channel 7 debut this season, the network has announced that the show will be returning at 7pm on Sunday, 8 August.
It’s expected to have an all-new look and feel, including three new judges appearing in the big red chairs.
Guy Sebastian, who coached last season, will be returning again in search of the perfect winner.
He will be joined by fellow Aussie music legends, Keith Urban and Jessica Mauboy, who will bring much-needed Indigenous Australian representation to the show.
Finally, international pop singer Rita Ora will round out the panel.
“I love the spirit of The Voice – the fact that we’re coaches more than judges – and that we get to do hands on mentoring. That’s what sets the show apart,” Keith said of his upcoming involvement.
Keith had a run in the judge’s chair some ten years ago, when he participated in the very first season.
While his wife was filming Nine Perfect Strangers in Byron Bay, he was able to do the local show.
“The stars have finally aligned again,” the country megastar told Perth Now.
“What I am looking for is somebody who you can imagine on radio, who is immediately identifiable by their voice, their tone, and the way they tell a story through song,” Guy said, explaining what his ideal winner would be like.
Guy’s brother, Chris Sebastian, proved himself to be just that type of person last season – taking out the winning spot on the show’s ninth season.
He has gone on to release a series of bangers, including Hard To Get to Love, and Wasted on Me.
With Channel 7 already hinting at some incredible new talent to come this year, we couldn’t be more excited for this singing spectacular to get going.
And with the premiere just two weeks away, we won’t be waiting long!
