Anne Hathaway has been everywhere this year promoting not one, not two, but five movies. And if that’s not impressive enough, she’s also been doing it while heavily pregnant.
Whether it’s been press for The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey or Verity, she’s been asked many questions about her pregnancy, and she swears by one New Zealand beauty product for her bump.
“I have a three-step bump routine… It’s an oil by Pure Mama and that seems to have been a game changer,” she said sitting beside Dakota Johnson talking to Allure.
Lara Henderson, founder of Pure Mama, couldn’t believe it — she had no idea the actor had been using one of her products, and found out in the middle of the night.
“I was on the other side of the world travelling with my family when one of our team members called me and woke me up to tell me the news,” she told WHO.
“My first reaction was complete disbelief. Anne Hathaway is someone I’ve grown up watching on screen, so hearing that she had discovered Pure Mama organically and was genuinely using our Belly & Body Oil felt surreal.”
Anne Hathaway found the Belly & Body Oil completely on her own
Lara admits she struggled to fall back asleep after the phone call, and was delighted that the product, which she is so passionate about, had found its way to Anne all on its own.
“It’s honestly hard to put into words. We had no paid partnership, campaign, or commercial arrangement in place.
“Anne was simply sharing products she genuinely loved and used during her pregnancy journey, and that’s what made it so powerful.
“Hearing her describe our Belly & Body Oil as a ‘game changer’ was incredibly humbling because that is exactly why we created it. Every founder hopes the products they create genuinely help people, so hearing those words from someone of Anne’s calibre was extraordinary.”

The product speaks for itself, but after Anne gave it a special mention, it’s been flying off the shelves. The number of people visiting the website jumped by 650 per cent.
However, she said the best part of the whole experience has been celebrating the win with the product’s “existing community”.
“We’ve had hundreds of messages from women saying they already swear by the Belly & Body Oil and were thrilled to see someone like Anne talking about it too. It felt like a win not just for our brand, but for our entire community.
“If I could send Anne a message myself, I’d probably start by telling her she inspired a middle-of-the-night phone call across time zones. Then I’d thank her for sharing Pure Mama so generously. Her words genuinely meant the world to our team.”
