Sitting down with Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper, the bestselling author behind the global phenomenon addressed the question fans have been asking for years: when can we expect the next instalment in the ACOTAR series?
For readers who have been patiently (or not-so-patiently) waiting for an update, Maas had some exciting news. The next chapter of the beloved fantasy series is set to arrive on October 27, 2026, with more of the story to follow in early 2027.

ACOTAR book 6 (and 7): What we know so far
It’s official: Sarah J. Maas has confirmed that the next ACOTAR instalment will arrive on October 27, 2026. Speaking on Call Her Daddy, she revealed that the story is massive.
“I mean, like, it’s long. It’s long,” she said.
And there’s more to look forward to. A second part is scheduled to follow on January 12, 2027. Maas explained that the story will be released across multiple physical volumes, but is intended to be experienced as one larger narrative.
“It’s basically going to be like three physical volumes, but it’s like one thing altogether… I could not live with the idea of publishing part one and then making everyone wait a year,” she said.
With the first release just weeks away, now is the perfect time to revisit Prythian and catch up on the series before diving into the next chapter.
