Who could forget Miranda Priestly’s legendary monologue in the The Devil Wears Prada? Not only one of the film’s most memorable lines, but also the otherwise unassuming shade of blue’s claim to fame.
In some good news for franchise devotees, Andy (Anne Hathaway) has wiped the cobwebs from her *controversial* cerulean sweater in the sequel, this time as a vest.
And it seems this shade — a softer take on cobalt but brighter than cornflower — is shaping up to be the colour of the season.
On the press run for The Devil Wears Prada 2, Streep also paid homage to this unmistakable shade of blue in a custom cerulean J.Crew sweater during her appearance on The Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert.

Outside of the famed franchise, pop princess Sabrina Carpenter has sported the hue on and off the stage, while cerulean also made a cameo during the Tory Burch Spring/Summer 2026 at New York Fashion Week.
