The time has finally come! After two decades of girding our loins, The Devil Wears Prada 2 has finally dropped as a sequel to the beloved 2006 film that most likely inspired a lot of today’s magazine writers to pursue the craft (or is that just us?).

With Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci all reprising their roles, it’s undoubtedly set to be as hilariously sassy as the first – and there’s a ton of new faces to be just as excited about!

But, like a lot of sequels, there’s nothing as iconic as the first, especially for die hard fans who have added “That’s all” into their everyday vocabulary or cerulean sweaters into their wardrobe. And while the new film isn’t meant to be a remake, it made sure to sprinkle in a few callbacks for the OG fans.

How many did you catch? We’ve rounded up some of the easter eggs we noticed below…

ANNE HATHAWAY Brushing he teeth in the mirror in original film vs sequel

01

Andy brushing her teeth

In classic 2000s film fashion, no chick-flick goes without an opening montage of the main character, especially as iconic as Andy’s (Hathaway) over the top of ‘Suddenly I See’ by KT Tunstall. In the sequel film, we see Andy brushing her teeth in the opening scene, exactly how they opened the film in the original.

02

The return of ‘florals for spring’

One of the most memorable lines from the first film came, of course, from Miranda Priestly (Streep) herself. In the scene, one of her employees suggests using florals for the spring issue, prompting Miranda to deliver her now-iconic, deadpan response: “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.”

In the second film the cast attend a glamorous event at the Metropolitan Museum of art (similar to the Met Gala) and the theme is ‘Spring Florals’. Chef’s kiss.

Andy gets soup for lunch

Many people may remember the scene of Andy digging into the office’s lunch buffet – corn chowder to be precise – where she subtly got schooled by Nigel (Tucci) on the house rules and status quo, before spilling it down her cerulean sweater.

In the new film, however, those words clearly don’t mean much to her as she’s seen once again going straight for the soup when she goes down to the cafeteria with Nigel, where he of course makes a little snarky comment about it.

‘A million girls would kill for this job’

During the second movie we meet Miranda’s first assistant played by Simone Ashley. We also meet Miranda’s second assistant played by Caleb Heron who perfectly makes a call back to the first movie by saying: “A million girls would kill for this job”. And he is correct.

05

The ‘risk’ of walking up Miranda’s stairs

The sequel also includes a cheeky callback to ‘The Book’ fiasco. In the film, Miranda has a new second assistant named Charles (Heron), who is anxiously waiting for “the book.” Andy offers him one piece of advice: “No matter what anyone tells you, do not go up the stairs in Miranda’s house.” When Charles replies, “Who would be stupid enough to do that?” Andy quickly insists, “No one!” before rushing off, a clear wink to one of her more nerve-wracking moments from the original film.

The devil wears… Valentino?

It may be called The Devil Wears Prada, but in the second film, Miranda was seen strutting down the hallways of Runway in some red studded Valentino heels. If you can remember, the late fashion designer Valentino Garavani, who died earlier in 2026, was the only designer to make a cameo appearance in the original film.

The coat from the ‘Vogue’ fashion montage

We all love a transformation scene – and there’s little more memorable than Andy’s original transformation montage playing out to the tune of ‘Vogue’ by Madonna. One of her new looks featured in the montage includes a green coat with leopard print trim – how very early noughties!

In the sequel’s montage of her time in Milan, she can be seen wearing the inverse of her original look – a leopard print coat with green trim.

08

The cerulean jumper

It wouldn’t be The Devil Wears Prada without the cerulean jumper (not blue, cerulean!). In the very last scene of the new film where Andy has finally stepped into her role at Runway, we see her walk down the stairs of the same Elias Clarke building from the first film, wearing a very similar brown jacket and jeans. Inside, she takes off her jacket and reveals none other than the iconic cerulean jumper that she got roasted for in the first film – this time as a chic new vest!
