From handing out roses to Tucker Trials, former Bachelor Luke Bateman is heading to the I’m A Celeb jungle!
The NRL player turned Bachelor turned romantasy book social media star has been announced as the first celebrity off to the South African jungle but will he have a special someone cheering him on from back home?
Is Luke Bateman single?
Whilst Luke has several female fans following him on social media including Bachelor alum Brooke Blurton, activist Chanel Contos and even Hollywood A-lister Reese Witherspoon, it’s unclear what his real life relationship status is.
The reality star currently keeps his love life private and the most romance we see from him online is in the form of book reviews.
The Bachelor days
Luke hasn’t always kept his love life private though.
Fans will no doubt recognise him from his starring role as The Bachelor in 2023 where he looked for his ideal partner alongside fellow Bachelors Wesley Senna Cortes and Ben Waddell.
The then-28-year-old Queenslander chose beauty therapist Ellie Rolfe as his winner in the finale and the two were so smitten they even had matching tattoos inked on.
But four months after that final rose ceremony, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the couple had not only unfollowed each other on social media, but deleted all photos of each other from their Instagram as well.
A month later, Luke confirmed the rumours in a statement to Yahoo Lifestyle, explaining, “Ellie and I have separated and would like to keep our relationship private. Ellie has a soul that lights up every room she walks into and I will sorely miss it in my life.”

Luke’s dream girl
Speaking to Who before The Bachelor, Luke admitted that he’s a “big romantic” who believes in love at first sight.
“I want to feel that all-consuming head-over-heels love with somebody,” he explained.
“At the end of the day, all I really want is lifelong love and I’m not concerned about the size or shape of the package that it comes in.”
However he did share one dealbreaker and that’s someone who’s not a fellow foodie.
“I love to dine out at restaurants and get heaps of share plates and I really enjoy the experience with my partner. I’m also an adventurous home cook and someone who doesn’t enjoy that would definitely be a large hurdle.”
Luke has also used his platform to speak openly about masculinity and the misconceptions of what providing for and protecting a partner looks like.
“Providing and protecting are human capabilities. Not capabilities born of gender, masculinity, patriarchy, or capitalism. They belong to all of us,” he captioned one of his videos.
