Jacinta, 25, sang against Kalani, and 17-year-old John was up against Harlan, however, both were knocked out against their competitors.

Earlier in the night, Jacinta sang a rendition of Dirty Dancing’s (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life and has been praised for her commitment to the show, with the forklift driver undergoing a transformation for the live shows.

Jacinta had applied to the show three times before being successful.

The episode got straight to business after a high energy group performance, before hosts Scott Tweedie and Rickie-Lee announced the bottom four of the week, with Charlie and Simela joined by Kalani Artis and Kesha Oayda.

Charlie-Moon was eliminated from Australian Idol.

Charlie-Moon, 31, who sang a rendition of Stevie Wonder’s Isn’t She Lovely said it was a lifelong dream to compete in Australian Idol.

“This has meant the world to me. I have been dreaming of this since Guy Sebastian won in 2003,” he said.

Simela, also 31, was equally gutted to leave the competition after singing Nelly I’m Like a Bird.

Fellow contestant Trè Samuels showed his support for Simela on social media, calling her a “vocal beast” and wishing her all the best for the future.

Simela narrowly missed out on the Top 6.

The 21-year-old waitress from Melbourne said she’s eager to keep pursuing music.

Wanwue, 21, was up against Charlie-Moon, and Harry, 26, was eliminated against Jacinta.

“This is not the end. This is the start of my journey. I have come so far, I’m not stopping here,” Wanwue said after being eliminated, singing Price Tag by Jessie J for her bottom four performance.

Harry pulled on the heartstrings with his How To Save A Life rendition by The Fray, however, was ultimately eliminated from the competition, too.

The first contestants to leave during the Live Shows

The first two contestants we said goodbye to were Lily Grace Grant and Sophie Poidevin on March 17, who were eliminated after landing in the bottom alongside Harry Lamb and Kesha Oayda.

Country singer Lily Grace sang Sweet Home Alabama, while Sophie said a confident rendition of What A Man (earning her a standing ovation from the judges), but sadly both didn’t do enough to stay in the competition.

Lily Grace, who hails from Lennox Head in the Northern Rivers and was the youngest singer in the group, thanked those who have supported her during her journey.

She is eager to keep building momentum off the show, hoping it will push her music dreams forward.

“This is not the end of my musical journey, this is just the beginning,” she said.
