Australian Survivor is back, and this time, everyone has a rival.
The 2027 season, Australian Survivor: Rivals, will see 24 castaways split across two tribes, with each contestant matched against a rival on the opposing side. Each pair has been chosen for their similar strengths, personalities, backgrounds or competitive streaks.
And some seriously familiar faces are in the mix. From The Block twins Alisa and Lysandra Fraser to AFL legends Heath Shaw and Adam Cooney, Olympic champions, actors, influencers and plenty of fresh faces, this year’s cast is a very mixed bag.
The 2027 season will also see the castaways head to Malaysia for the first time, where they’ll battle it out for the $500,000 prize and the title of Sole Survivor.
So, who is actually heading into the jungle? Here’s everything you need to know about the Australia Survivor: Rivals cast.
Alisa Fraser vs Lysandra Fraser
You might recognise Alisa and Lysandra from The Block, where the identical twins competed together rather than against each other.
The Adelaide sisters first appeared on The Block: Sky High in 2013 before returning for Fans v Faves the following year. They’re both interior designers and have continued working together through their design business.
Now, after 42 years of sibling rivalry, they’re finally going head-to-head.
Heath Shaw vs Adam Cooney
This one is going to be spicy for footy fans. Former Collingwood star Heath Shaw will face off against former Essendon player Adam Cooney, taking their famous rivalry from the footy field to the Malaysian jungle.
Shaw played 325 AFL games across Collingwood and Greater Western Sydney and was part of Collingwood’s 2010 premiership-winning team. Cooney, meanwhile, played 250 games for the Western Bulldogs and Essendon and won the 2008 Brownlow Medal.
Adam Ashley-Cooper vs Robbie Farah
It’s league versus union as former Wallaby Adam Ashley-Cooper takes on Wests Tigers legend Robbie Farah.
Ashley-Cooper is one of Australia’s most accomplished rugby union players, earning 121 Test caps for the Wallabies across a 15-year international career.
His opposition, Farah, played 303 NRL games and became one of the most recognisable players in Wests Tigers history.
Kerri Pottharst vs Danielle Scott
Australian sporting legends Kerri Pottharst and Danielle Scott will bring the Summer and Winter Olympics to Survivor.
Pottharst is a former beach volleyball player and Olympic gold medallist who competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Scott is an aerial skier who has represented Australia at four Winter Olympics, most recently at the 2026 Milano Cortina Games.
Bernard Curry vs Lincoln Lewis
If you’ve watched Australian television over the past few decades, there’s a very good chance you’ve seen at least one of these two.
Lincoln is best known for playing Geoff Campbell on Home and Away, while his other credits include Tomorrow, When the War Began, Neighbours, Underbelly and NCIS: Sydney.
Bernard Curry has also had a long career on Australian TV, with roles in Home and Away, Wentworth, Neighbours and Winners & Losers. Curry also won The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition alongside his brother Stephen Curry in 2025, so he’s already got a reality TV win under his belt.
Christian Wilkins vs Mitch Churi
Christian Wilkins is swapping the red carpet for the jungle. The model, actor and television personality is the son of entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins and has become a familiar face at Australian red carpet events.
His rival is media personality Mitch Churi, host of The Mitch Churi Chat Show. This time, instead of interviewing everyone else, Churi will be the one in the spotlight.
Sharni Layton vs Sarah Yatim
Former netballer and AFL player Sharni Layton will go head-to-head with footballer Sarah Yatim.
Layton is a former Australian Diamonds captain who won Commonwealth Games gold and two World Cups during her netball career. She’s since moved into coaching and currently works with England Netball and West Coast Fever.
Yatim has played football at both national and professional levels, including for Western Sydney Wanderers Women and Sydney Olympic.
Both women are no strangers to competition, so this could be one to watch.
Ellie Gonsalves vs Kaitlyn Souksamlane-Tan
Queensland model, actor and TV personality Ellie Gonsalves is taking on part-time strategy executive and self-confessed diva Kaitlyn Souksamlane-Tan.
Kaitlyn has already revealed she’s channeling Survivor legend Colby Donaldson for the experience. Whether that strategy pays off remains to be seen.
Portia Ferdinand vs Emily Jones
Forget the courtroom, these two lawyers are taking their arguments to Survivor.
NSW lawyers Portia Ferdinand and Emily Jones will go head-to-head in the ultimate game of strategy.
Kate Allan vs Eva Bantin
Kate Allan and Eva Bantin are proving that motherhood and Survivor are a pretty formidable combination.
The pair have been dubbed the season’s “Power Mums”, with Eva, 51, describing her time on the show as the hardest, most emotional and physically demanding thing she’s ever done. Kate, meanwhile, joked that this wasn’t quite the kid-free island holiday she had in mind.
Josh Robinson vs Louis Liu
These rivals have both been labelled the season’s “Rebels”.
Josh runs In A Jam, a Melbourne-based initiative that brings free sausage sizzles and drinks to commuters stuck in traffic. Louis is a Chinese-Manchu tattoo artist who describes himself as a “rebel with a cause”.
It’s certainly a different kind of rivalry — but we’re intrigued.
Jorden Tually vs Yusuf Omar
Travel creator Jorden Tually and journalist and content creator Yusuf Omar are going head-to-head as the season’s rival vloggers.
Tually has travelled to more than 100 countries over the past decade, so he’s certainly no stranger to adapting to new environments. Omar previously worked for CNN and has gone on to co-found Seen.TV and Seen Palestine, where he works in journalism and trains journalists in the region.
Between the two of them, they’re bringing plenty of experience in communicating with people, which could come in very handy around the Survivor campfire.
