After the unbelievable success of Big Little Lies, Nicole Kidman— who received rave reviews and scooped up a number of Emmys for her stellar performance as Celeste Wright in the series— has announced she’s adapting another one of Australian author, Liane Moriarty’s novels.

WATCH: The trailer for Big Little Lies season TWO!

Together, the Australian Oscar winner and Big Little Lies showrunner David E.Kelley have teamed up with Hulu to bring Nine Perfect Strangers to life. Kidman will both star in the series and executive produce it.

According to the novel’s synopsis, Nine Perfect Strangers is set in a wellness resort where “nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living. Watching over them during this 10-day retreat is the resort’s director Masha (Kidman), a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine ‘perfect’ strangers have no idea what is about to hit them.”

The exciting news comes days after more images from the second season of Big Little Lies were released and weeks after HBO dropped the official trailer for the upcoming season. The clip shows our other favourite Monterary mums, Jane Chapman (Shailene Woodley), Madeline Mackenzie (Reese Witherspoon) and Renata Klein (Laura Dern) grapple with the events that wrapped season one.

Meryl Streep has also signed on for season two and will star as Mary Louis Wright— Perry’s (Alexander Skarsgard) mother who is on the hunt for answers as to what actually happened to her son.

Season two will premiere on Foxtel on Monday, June 10 at 11.00am— the same time as the US, with a primetime encore on FOX SHOWCASE at 8.30pm AEST.
