The jokes from 2020 about an incoming ‘COVID baby boom’ seemed to have rung quite true when it comes to celebrities, especially in Australia.
So far, we have seen many celebrities either give birth to their first baby, or add to their existing broods all throughout the year.
From reality stars through to TV presenters, and with the occasional royal thrown in, babies are definitely the flavour of 2021.
Here are all the birth announcements you hopefully haven’t missed from 2021!
Lola Ellis Johnson
The second child for Bachelor-made couple Matthew Johnson and Laura Byrne, Lola’s birth announcement came on February 4th.
“Welcome to the world my precious little Lola Ellis Johnson,” Laura wrote on Instagram.
“I said I would eat my own poop if you were a girl, and yet HERE YOU ARE! Already teaching me the worldly life lessons that come with being a mama,” she added.
Matt also celebrated Lola’s birth on his own Instagram.
“Lola Ellis Johnson… you had us all fooled! Everyone from your Mum, your Nana, the neighbour and even the postman thought you were going to be a boy. Playing pranks on us all already… I love it!” he wrote.
Sunny Barker
Another reality TV fan-fave couple, The Block winners Elyse Knowles and Josh Barker, had their turn in February as well.
Elyse had Sunny on the 25th and announced his arrival on March 1st.
“The next chapter in our lives. The best chapter yet. And it’s called Sunny ☀️ 25~2~21. Sunny Barker 💙” Elyse shared on Instagram.
August Philip Hawke Brooksbank
We saw a black and white image of August’s tiny hand on February 10, shared on the Instagram account of his mother, Princess Eugenie. We were given his name 10 days later.
“Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can’t express. We are excited to be able to share these photos with you,” they wrote in the name announcement.
Rocky Franklin
Jesinta and Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin’s second child, a son, arrived in March this year.
Although Jesinta was open about her pregnancy, she kept the details of the birth, and her son’s name, quiet for some time.
The arrival was announced via Buddy’s Instagram on March 24, with a picture of the Sydney Swans player holding his son, and a caption that read “Our Baby boy has arrived 💙.”
Summer Elizabeth Canning
More Bachie babies! Mary Viturino, who met partner Connor Canning on Bachelor in Paradise, gave birth to their daughter, Summer Elizabeth Canning, in March this year. The little bub came six weeks earlier than planned but captured her parents’ hearts immediately.
“I feel like she’s already a Daddy’s girl,” Mary wrote on Instagram.
Hudson Hunter William Falkiner
Former participant on The Biggest Loser and curve model, Fiona Falkiner, gave birth to her first son, Hudson, on March 22nd.
“For 2 years you were a dream, over 9 months we watched you grow. In a second you stole our hearts, and showed us a love we did not know 💙,” Fiona shared to Instagram with pictures of herself, Hudson and her partner, Hayley Willis.
Grace Warrior Irwin Powell
One of Australia’s most-anticipated babies, Grace Warrior was born to Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell in March this year – the first grandchild of the late Steve Irwin.
The bundle of joy was born on March 25 – the couple’s first wedding anniversary. Her middle names ‘Warrior Irwin’ are a tribute to Steve, with Warrior representing his Wildlife Warrior status, and of course his last name attached.
“There are no words to describe the infinite amount of love in our hearts for our sweet baby girl,” Bindi wrote on Instagram.
Frankie Robert Constable
Former MAFS’ contestant, Tracey Jewel gave birth to her second child also in March this year. Her first son, and first child with husband Nathan Constable, Frankie came into the world via emergency C-section on March 18.
“He’s a strong feisty little man (no wonder with his hard kicks) and so enjoying our little love bubble,” Tracey shared one week after his birth.
Paddy George Shepherdson
It was already a big year for Bachelor babies when Tara Pavlovic’s first son, Paddy George Shepherdson, was born on April 30.
Tara, who had always worked in childcare or as a nanny, was beyond thrilled with his arrival.

“Words can’t describe how beyond in love we are with you. We are so grateful that you arrived happy and healthy and we will love and protect you forever.”
Ever J Marshall
The second child for Zoe and Benji Marshall, Ever arrived at 15:15 on the 15th of June.
“No words. Just her,” Zoe wrote on Instagram.
“Truly, madly, deeply in love,” she added.
Lilibet Diana Mountbatten Windsor
While Grace Warrior was the most highly anticipated baby in Australia, the whole world was waiting on the arrival of Lilibet.
The second child of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Lilibet arrived on June 4.
Lilibet, or ‘Lili’ was named after her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, who went by the nickname Lilibet as a child. Some pointed out the hypocrisy in naming the baby after the head of the institution that Harry and Meghan willingly left 18 months ago, but others found it to be endearing.
We’re still waiting on a picture of Lilibet.
Beau Durie
Jamie Durie and his fiancée Ameka Fields welcomed their first baby together, a daughter, in July this year.
“My heart is overflowing ❤️we are thrilled to introduce you to our beautiful baby girl … Beau Durie. Words can’t describe how proud I am of my girls… Thank-you my beautiful Ameka for bringing so much joy into our lives. ❤️,” Jamie wrote on Instagram.
Jamie, 50, is already father to Talyor, who lives in Los Angeles.

Prairie Moon followed Bodhi Rain, seven, Forest Sage, four, and her other daughter, Poet Lake, who is only one.
“Introducing our daughter, Prairie Moon Palmer, who was born just as the sun rose on Tuesday morning, 17th August, surrounded by her siblings who are absolutely enamoured with her. A little magic moon for our family,” Teresa shared on Instagram.
Maxwell Keegan Jory
Another Bachie baby! Alex Nation, the season four winner of The Bachelor and a Bachelor in Paradise participant, gave birth to her second son, Maxwell, on August 20.

Max Thomas Campbell Cullen
Sports presenter for the Today show, Alex Cullen, celebrated the arrival of his third child, Max Thomas Campbell Cullen, in August.
Little Max is the younger brother of twins Audrey and Evie, who are two – meaning Alex and wife Bonnie now have three under three. A hectic time ahead!
0“I marvel at Bonnie’s strength especially in these very trying times. Just amazing. Mum and baby Cullen recovering well,” Alex wrote as part of the announcement.
Armani Valentina Reitano
While Farmer Sam Reitano didn’t find love on his season of Farmer Wants a Wife, he has now found himself at the centre of a budding family.
Best known for quitting the reality show when he couldn’t make connections with his chosen top four, Sam found love with fiancée, Katelen Cunningham not long after.
Armani Valentina Reitano came along on August 13th.
“Welcome to the world my beautiful daughter. Armani Valentina Reitano ❤️ Born on the 13th of August at 3:34pm. This girl is going to be the best girl in the world, she’s going to be better than anyone ever knew :),” the happy dad shared on Instagram.
1Levi & Tate Ruthven
The much-anticipated arrival of Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson’s twins occurred early, with the boys being born 10 weeks premature. The boys arrived on October 16th, when Melissa was only 29 weeks along, and stayed in NICU for a number of weeks.

Minnie Alex Pullin
The widowed wife of snowboarder Alex “Chumpy” Pullin, Ellidy Pullin, gave birth to her daughter, Minnie Alex Pullin, on the 25th of October. The birth was significant, as Ellidy lost Alex quite suddenly in an accident, and retrieved his sperm before his burial in order to carry his children.
A year on from his death, she is now the mother to their daughter, and regularly shares pictures of both Alex and Minnie across Instagram.
Samson Andy Hall
3Lauren Brant and Barry Hall’s third son, Samson Andy Hall, arrived on October 26. The origin of Samson is ‘sun’, and Biblically, Samson was endowed with strength. His name, when written as an initial, is S. Andy, which is reminiscent for Lauren and Barry of Sandy.

“Christmas has come early for us as we welcome our Grace Birri-Pa Purnarrika Colley,” she announced on December 13.
4“Birri-Pa is Larrakia for Butterfly, Purnarrika is Tiwi for Water Lily,” she explained.
“Grace has entered the world adored by her mum and dad, as well as all her aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and so many more.
“We are extremely grateful, overjoyed and so, so tired 💕” she finished her statement.
She also shared an adorable image of little Grace, who appears to be impersonating the reindeer on her shirt.
Daisy Love
It was one of the biggest reality TV scandals of the year when Farmer Wants a Wife‘s Hayley Love fell pregnant to Farmer Will, who was not the farmer she was originally falling in love with.
However, all’s well that ends well, and Hayley became a mother to her baby daughter, Daisy.
5“DAISY 🌸,” she wrote beside a picture of a snoozing baby girl.
“Born on 7th December 2021 at 10:03pm weighing 3.6kgs. I can’t believe you are mine, my little best friend.”
