Just over one month after Married At First Sight Australia bride Ella Ding announced her engagement to boyfriend Guy Palmero, the couple surprised friends and family by sharing they had secretly tied the knot.
Posing as a celebration for Ella’s 30th birthday party, the newlyweds shared a video montage of their big day, revealing that they had celebrated their wedding in a private ceremony earlier that day.
Following the celebrations, Ella took to Instagram to share her guest’s reaction to the surprise announcement, with fellow Married at First Sight star Domenica Calarco’s heartwarming reaction taking centre stage in the video.
“We said I do & surprised everyone at my 30th birthday party ❤️,” Ella captioned the video, with Domenica replying, “Pulled off the surprise of the century. I’m on a high. What a night, what a couple and what a love story.”
Ella’s wedding day celebrations come just over one month after the couple shared footage of Guy’s surprise proposal, with Ella’s now-husband popping the question while on a morning jog.
“The man of my actual dreams proposed to me with my friends and family. I love you. I love us. And thank you for choosing me,” Ella announced to Instagram.
“Everything that we have been through led us back to each other, and it was all worth it.”
News of their official engagement followed a series of headline-making photographs that led some fans to believe that Ella had proposed to Guy, however, the couple clarified that the snaps were part of a paid partnership with Up Banking.
“He said YES! You heard it first Guy has officially moved in! AND I popped the question… to open a 2UP joint bank account with me,” Ella wrote.
Prior to the news of their wedding celebrations, the 30-year-old MAFS star had been teasing her new relationship for a while before going Instagram official with Guy in April 2023.
“I guess this is a hard launch,” she wrote alongside a picture of the couple.
Since confirming their relationship, the couple have kept the details of their romance relatively private however, Ella has since shared several sweet tributes to her new beau.
“11 years I was single, dating all the red flags, got married on reality TV, flew the other side of the world to meet someone to also be let down but all which lead me to my now beautiful partner,” she previously wrote to Instagram.
“I am so grateful for all the years of disappointment because I now feel like the luckiest lady on earth ❤️ and I want to remind you, there is hope! I finally understand for the first time in my life what unconditional love is, and having a best friend in your partner is🌹”
In 2022, Ella was previously in a relationship with Made in Chelsea star Miles Nazaire. The pair chatted online for months before meeting in real life – with their relationship playing out on the E4 show, however, the pair confirmed they had split in October 2022.
“Made in Chelsea was pretty crazy. The show was intense. It was probably harder than MAFS. It’s such a short period of time. I didn’t find love,” she explained during Channel Nine’s Upfronts presentation in Sydney.
Ella Ding first rose to fame during the 2021 season of Married at First Sight, where she was married to Mitchell Eynaud.
Despite their relationship not lasting past the filming of the show, Ella has been open about how grateful she was for the experiences, especially since it was where she met her best friend, Domenica Calarco.
“Crazy to think, if we didn’t go on MAFS we wouldn’t be travelling the world together,” Ella wrote on Instagram.
Since their season of MAFS wrapped, the pair are often spotted together and have even launched a podcast together called Sit With Us.
