Valeria Lukyanova: The ‘Human Barbie Doll’ From Ukraine

Meet the real-life Barbie doll, Valeria Lukyanova.

There have been plenty of other dolls, but none have been as iconic as Barbie. While Barbie is a toy meant to inspire little girls into thinking that they “can be anything” – whether it’s an astronaut, chef, or even a beekeeper – it turns out that there are people who aspire to be Barbie herself!

Valeria Lukyanova: The Girl That Looks Like Barbie

Valeria Lukyanova was born on August 23, 1985 to Valery and Irina Lukyanova. She grew up in Odessa, a city in Ukraine, but moved to Moscow, Russia in 2014.

Unsurprisingly, Valeria had a large collection of Barbies as a little girl! Like most girls, she loved dressing them up and playing with them. She loved Barbie’s seemingly perfect look, and wanted to look just as perfect.

She admits to having had breast augmentation, but she actually claims that the rest of her body is completely natural! With that said, plenty of people suspect that she has had lots of other procedures done. If you look at a before-and-after comparison of younger photos to current photos (even without makeup), it still definitely looks like she’s had work done!

The Diet And Lifestyle Of A Human Barbie Doll

It isn’t just her looks that make Valeria such a fascinating person, she also has extremely unique lifestyle habits  – in fact, she once considered herself a breatharian, or a person who survives only on breath and sunlight. Clearly, that wasn’t sustainable!

To maintain such a slim figure (that she insists is natural), Valeria follows a very strict diet of mostly liquids and raw vegetables. Valeria also attributes her slim figure to regular exercise. Going to the gym is part of her daily routine, as well as meditation and yoga.

Beyond Being Barbie

Surprisingly, Valeria claims that she actually hates being called a human Barbie, and that she finds it a little degrading and insulting”. But since it is how most people know her, she’s accepted it as part of [her] aesthetic image”.

Beyond simply being the human Barbie, Valeria has plenty of other interests that she dedicates a lot of her time to: singing, acting, composing, modelling, and even teaching! Valeria’s day job is actually an instructor at the International School of Out-of-Body Travel! Here, she teaches students how to leave their physical body and travel their spiritual body”.

Valeria is definitely into New Age spiritualism, and she even has a spiritual name: Amatue. She says that the name came to her in a dream, and that it’s her true name. Her Youtube channel is full of videos that talk about how to get in touch with your astral self and how to travel the astral plane.

Barbie’s Ken

You’ve met human Barbie, but did you know that there’s also a human Ken! Meet Justin Jedlica. Unlike Valeria, he’s very open about all the procedures that he’s had done in order to look “perfect”. Although these two might seem like a match made in heaven, they actually met each other in 2013 and ended up hating each other!

However, Valeria did find love with her childhood friend, Dmitry Shkrabov, a Ukranian businessman. Dmitry is deeply in love with Valeria, and is totally supportive of her unique look: Dmitry is always on my side. He loves and supports me. He likes me with makeup and without.

Dmitry and Valeria are married, but Valeria’s made it clear that having a baby is out of the question – she would rather die from torture and that the worst thing in the world is to have a family lifestyle”.

Going Beyond Barbie

Valeria doesn’t want to be known just for her looks, which is why she makes it her mission to teach others about astral travel and spirituality. She’s even written a book about it in 2012, titled Astral Travel Amatue.

It doesn’t end there. While Valeria dislikes being thought of as a Barbie doll, she does think of herself as an alien! She believes that she’s actually from Venus, and that she was sent to Earth to help humans. When she shared these stories to the public, she gained a new moniker: Space Barbie

Interestingly, Valeria is not the only real woman masquerading as a Barbie doll! Alina Kovalevskaya is yet another girl whose goal is to look like the so-called perfect doll. She’s living in Odessa, Ukraine, and she actually met Valeria! Unfortunately, they didn’t hit it off and aren’t friends.

What’s Next For The Human Barbie?

Valeria has been quite productive over the past few years – she released a book, a couple albums, and she even starred in a movie, 2016’s The Doll! Whether you love her or hate her, you can’t deny her ambition!
