Kerri-Anne Kennerley has returned to television, joining the Studio 10 panel on Mondays and Tuesdays. Ten will be hoping Kennerley can bring some stability to what has been a rocky ship, and the new panelist has opened up to WHO on her thoughts about joining the panel.
WHO: You’re used to hosting or co-hosting shows. How do you think you’ll go on a panel?
KAK: I did Midday with Kerri-Anne and Mornings with Kerri-Anne, and I enjoyed that, but it’s a lot of responsibility and you have to be very focused. Because there are so many people on the Studio 10 panel, you have to see where you can fit in and make a contribution. It’s a nice change. And what could go wrong? There are a whole bunch of people on the panel.
WHO: Do you think you’ll struggle to be heard?
KAK: That’s always the challenge. But if there are different opinions that’s a good thing.
WHO: If there are heated debates, we can’t imagine you’ll back down, right?
KAK: Heavens, no. I don’t think I have ever backed down. That doesn’t mean it has to be aggressive or abusive. But let’s face it, television needs spirited discussion. It’s important not to back away. Once you start to be contrived, that becomes very obvious. It’s got to be honest, and luckily news changes every day. If everybody was on the same page it would be like watching wallpaper. I want to be the flock on the wallpaper.
