Between Kim and Pete’s break-up and Khloe and Tristan’s son being born via surrogate, it’s been a big week for Kardashian news.
However, fans of the famous fam have come up with a theory as to why we’re suddenly receiving a major influx of info about the reality stars all of a sudden, and honestly? It’s not all that far-fetched.
If you’ve been following the Kardashians since their rise to fame, you’d know that matriarch Kris Jenner is quite the PR mastermind and has a vice-like grip on what stories are released about her family (for the most part).
Remember how Kylie Jenner managed to hide her entire pregnancy with Stormi? Well, you can thank Mama Kris’ media skills for keeping that under wraps!
However, with this week’s news that Kim, 41, and her 28-year-old flame Pete Davidson have called it quits after just nine months together, fans are sensing that something’s amiss.
Given that the bombshell was dropped basically at the same time word that Khloe and Tristan’s surrogate had given birth to their baby boy, the internet sleuths over at the Keeping Up With The Kardashian subreddit pointed out that news of the split was likely used as a distraction to Khloe’s baby news.
This would make sense, especially considering the last season of The Kardashians revealed that baby daddy Tristan Thompson had cheated on Khloe and fathered a child with another woman, leading to an onslaught of criticism towards Khloe for repeatedly “taking him back”.
“This is being announced at 10:00 PM EST on a Friday night. Kete break-up was definitely the distraction,” one Reddit user theories.
Another added, “The breakup is distracting us from the baby for sure. Dropping the news on a Friday night is one thing but after a break-up is another. Kim has had this in her back pocket for a week or two and has gotten Pete to agree to wait to announce until the baby comes. Garuntreeed. [sic]”
A third quipped, “They must be filming the season finale with all this news dropping.”
But they’re not the only theories fans have come up with.
Given that Kim had been singing praises of SNL star Pete as recently as last week, many believe that it was the comedian who called time on the relationship – and it was Kim who didn’t see it coming.
“I believe he 100% dumped her, and she is going to push out a ton of articles saying the opposite: oh, Kim had to dump him because of the kids (even though she allowed him to tattoo her kids names on him), busy schedules, Kim thinks he’s too young, blah blah all BS.
“She was loving the attention she was getting from hopping on the tattooed white boy train and was hyping their relationship up for season 2, posting pics of him, I don’t see her being the one who broke it off,” one fan theorised.
And it looks like they weren’t wrong, as there now seem to be a slew conflicting narratives as to why exactly the pair called it quits, with a source claiming to Page Six, “Pete is 28 and Kim is 41 — they are just in very different places at the moment.
“Pete is totally spontaneous and impulsive and wants her to fly to New York, or wherever he is on a moment’s notice,” the source adds. “But Kim has four kids and it isn’t that easy. She needs to focus on the kids.”

The source added that Kim was also “totally exhausted by this relationship and other things going on in her life.”
It all sounds delightfully messy, and it looks like Kris Jenner’s master plan has worked since we’ll definitely be turning into the new seasons of The Kardashians to get the goss on what went down behind the scenes.
