Aussie model Megan Gale has made her first public appearance since she experienced a heartbreaking family tragedy last month.
The former face of David Jones was spotted in Perth while attending her older brother Jason’s funeral in Fremantle.
Jason died in non-suspicious circumstances on July 21. His body was found in bushland south-east of Perth.
He had not been seen for a week, after he was captured on CCTV footage filling up his car with petrol and buying a bottle of water at a service station in the small town of Popayinning, about 150km south-east of Perth.
It’s understood Jason had been grieving the death of co-worker and close friend Robert Cunico, who died at a wastewater treatment plant in 2018. Jason was reportedly by his mate’s side when he died at the facility.
On Tuesday this week, Megan travelled from Melbourne to her home state of WA and joined 200 mourners at a memorial service for her late brother.
The 45-year-old mother of two lives in the Victorian capital with her fiancé, former AFL star and Survivor contestant Shaun Hampson, and the couple’s two children River and Rosie.
Megan is yet to make a public statement about her brother’s death and has remained quiet on social media since his passing.
It’s unclear if Megan was joined by her young family on the trip, or if she had to quarantine for 14 days on arrival from Victoria, which is currently under lockdown, or if she qualified for an exemption.
The wife and daughter of Jason’s workmate who died, paid tribute to the 49-year-old in the wake of his death.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of my father’s work colleague and our beautiful friend Jason,” Robert Cunico’s daughter Ashlea previously said in a statement.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gale family as we all try to come to terms with what has transpired.”
