After months of extensive renovations the royal couple have taken up residence in their 10-bedroom home.

With just days to go before they welcome Baby Sussex, they have left Kensington Palace and moved into their own home – 29km away in Windsor, the small town where they were married last May.

The couple were living in Nottingham Cottage, which was just moments from Prince William and Kate and in the grounds of Kensington Palace, where Harry spent his early childhood.

The Duke and Duchess hope to enjoy a quieter life while they prepare for the arrival of their firstborn, which is due towards the ‘end of April, or early May.’

The Sussexes are thought to have hired designer Vicky Charles – who has previously worked with the Beckhams, and George and Amal Clooney – to help with the interiors and design elements of the renovation.

Some reports state that the renovation cost a staggering $5.5m, which included soundproofing to block out noise from nearby Heathrow Airport, and a ‘green energy unit’.

Their move comes just days after Meghan and Harry launched their own Instagram account, in a move that further distances them from Kensington Palace.
