An American sports personality has revealed he once unsuccessfully tried to impress Meghan Markle at a bar.
Rob Perez, an NBA personality and sports commentator has told his 325,000 Twitter followers that he once offered to buy the now Duchess of Sussex a drink during a chance encounter at a Hollywood party.
“Met Meghan Markle at a party in LA once,” he began.
“Worked up the courage to ask her if I could buy her a drink. Amazingly, she said yes.”
But while working his way over to the bar, Rob confessed that he “got distracted” watching a basketball game and was stood up by the Suits actress.
He added: “When I came back, she was gone.”
Rob admitted he’d completely forgotten about the encounter until Meghan announced her engagement to Prince Harry in November 2017.
He concluded: “Now she’s engaged to a damn PRINCE. The End.”
