At the time, the recording and transcript which detailed the illicit conversation, shocked the British public.

According to Express.co.uk, Charles was caught on tape telling Camilla he wanted to “live inside her trousers”.

Next in line to the throne, Charles, was said: “Oh God. I’ll just live inside your trousers or something. It would be much easier!”

Camilla, who was then married to Andrew Parker-Bowles, replied: “What are you going to turn into, a pair of knickers!? Oh, you’re going to come back as a pair of knickers.”

“Or, God forbid, a Tampax. Just my luck!” Charles laughed.

According to a royal biographer, the shocking conversation between Charles and Camilla was branded as “sick” when Diana found out, with the Princess declaring “Game, set and match” after the tape was leaked.

Ken Wharfe wrote in his book Guarding Diana: Protecting The Princess Around The World: “‘Game, set and match,’ she said, clutching to her a copy of the Daily Mirror containing a transcript of the ‘Camillagate’ tape as we talked in her sitting room at Kensington Palace.”

“Later, however, she told me that she had been genuinely shocked by some of the baser comments, particular the Prince’s tampon reference. ’It’s just sick,’ she said repeatedly,” he added.
