Rachel Griffiths is clearly not regretting leaving Hollywood behind to relocate her family to Australia, with the actress taking in stunning Palm Beach with close friend and serial co-star Rhys Muldoon, as well as a platoon of kids and friends.
The Muriel’s Wedding icon went on to great success in LA, with roles in Six Feet Under and Brothers and Sisters. But the call of family and a better lifestyle brought her and artist husband Andrew Taylor home.
‘We just really missed our families, my husband and I,’ Rachel told the Daily Mail of her move.
‘I guess it’s the chance to give our children the life that we had, which was knowing our grandparents and having a really close relationship with our cousins.
‘If you are overseas you are denying what I feel is the best aspect of my childhood that I remember and that’s the same for my husband too.’
A celebrity hot spot, Palm Beach is the location of much exterior shooting for Home and Away – but also a popular holiday destination for everyone from Pink to Nicole Kidman.
But it was Rachel who was the star of the show today – not that you’d know it as she effortlessly blended in with the locals on those famous sands.
Rachel and Rhys worked together on popular hit House Husbands, as well as the recent SBS series Dead Lucky, but outside of work are reported to have a long-time friendship.
