Six-hundred people have been invited to attend the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Following the church service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor and the lunchtime reception given by the Queen, 200 guests will join the newlyweds at an after party at Frogmore House, hosted by Prince Charles.
Unlike Harry’s older brother, Prince William, and wife Kate Middleton, the couple have not been compelled to invite heads of state and other dignitaries. Instead, their guest list is entirely of their own choosing, and is expected to include members of both their families, close friends and colleagues, and even all five members of Spice Girls (who are rumoured to perform at the evening event).
But are any of Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriends among the invitees?
Cressida Bonas
Introduced to each other in 2012 by his cousin Princess Eugenie, Harry and actress/model Cressida Bonas dated for two years. Their split in 2014 is rumoured to have been prompted by Bonas, 29, who is said to have struggled with the amount of attention she got from the press and the anticipation that the couple might become engaged. Despite the breakup, the pair have remained friends, and Bonas has been invited to Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
Chelsy Davy
Harry’s longest and highest profile relationship before Meghan was with Chelsy Davy, who he dated on and off for seven years. Now 32, the Zimbabwe-born lawyer-turned-jewellery designer has been invited to the wedding and initial reception, but has been left off the guest list for the more exclusive after party. Davy is said to be “shocked and hurt” by the perceived snub from the more intimate event.
Ellie Goulding
Also invited to the wedding is pop star Ellie Goulding, who performed at William and Kate’s reception in 2011, and was spotted getting cosy with Harry at the 2016 Audi Polo Challenge amid rumours the pair were dating. Little is known about the seriousness of their relationship, but Harry and Goulding are clearly still on good terms.
It’s likely none of the other women rumoured to have been involved with Prince Harry over the years, a list that includes TV presenter Caroline Flack, Love Island star Camilla Thurlow, model Florence Brudenell-Bruce and pop star Mollie King, have been invited to the wedding.
