When it comes to Hollywood actors, there’s no one quite like Russell Crowe. With a career spanning over five decades (he made his TV debut when he was six!) and an Oscar to his name, the 62-year-old has lived a large life.
Born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1964 before he migrated to Australia in 1985, Crowe is best known for starring in Gladiator, Les Misérables, and A Beautiful Mind, and, much like his iconic roles, there have been many beautiful women in his personal life, too.
His ex-wife Danielle Spencer has made a rare comment about their marriage, claiming the “narrative” around their split that has endured for years is untrue.
“There’s been this narrative that Russell’s escalating career and him being away contributed to the break-up of our marriage, but that’s not true for me,” the actor told The Sydney Morning Herald.
“I felt our kids needed routine rather than living in hotels or renting houses for a few months, so I settled them in Sydney … We’d visit Russell, or he’d call me a hundred times a day,” she said.
Danielle claims it was her who was the “driver” in the divorce, and said it was hard to break up the family but knew it was the right thing to do.

The couple first met in 1989 on the set of The Crossing and had an on-and-off again relationship before tying the knot in Russell’s own backyard in Nana Glen, NSW, in 2003.
They announced they had split nine years later in 2012 before officially divorcing in 2015.
The pair share two children together, Charlie Spencer Crowe, 22, and Tennyson Spencer Crowe, 19, and bought a $10m mansion in Rose Bay, Sydney.

Currently, Russell Crowe is dating American actor-turned-real estate agent Britney Theriot.
Russell and Britney, 42, first met on the set of Broken City in 2013, and made their red carpet debut together in October 2022.
The pair were first spotted in public together by the Daily Mail in November 2020, and were spotted in 2022 on a family trip in Italy, alongside Russel’s two sons.
According to 9Honey, Britney was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and began a real estate company called Mirambell Realty in 2017.
Dating rumours around Russell Crowe and Terri Irwin
Back in 2020, rumours were rampant that Russell Crowe and Terri Irwin were dating after the Hollywood actor visited the Australian zoologist at the John Oliver Koala Chlamydia Ward, according to New Idea.
“Russell and Terri have definitely been spending more time together in recent times,” a source told New Idea in 2019.
But, as it turns out, the two may have just been good friends.
In a candid interview with The Courier Mail in March 2020, the conservationist revealed that Russell was one of the first people to check up on her when her husband Steve Irwin tragically passed.
Neither Russell nor Terri have confirmed their rumoured romance.
“Russell is such a wonderful influence on Terri and she’s always glowing when she’s with him or has just spent time with him,” the inside source continued.
