If you woke up this morning and saw pictures of Sydney Sweeney on top of the Harbour Bridge, rest assured, you weren’t seeing things. The Euphoria actress has very much arrived down under and is doing some bucket list sightseeing before filming her next project in Queensland.

In 2023, Sweeney was last in Sydney filming the romantic comedy Anyone but You with co-star Glenn Powell. Now, as of early May 2026, the star is back in Australia, this time spending her days on the Gold Coast, filming the live-action Netflix adaptation of the Japanese sci-fi franchise Gundam.

Sweeney is leading the movie alongside All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star Noah Centineo as they star as rival mech pilots (people who operate a giant armoured suit or robot). The film is set to bring the long-running animated Japanese franchise to life, with interstellar robotic battles and high-stakes drama on the cards.

However, before the A-lister tries out Movie World, it seems she was looking forward to some much needed rest, relaxation, and retail therapy in Sydney before heading on her way.

Here are all the spots Sweeney hit during her time in Sydney if you feel like being a tourist anytime soon!

Sydney Swans game

On Sunday, May 3, Sweeney was spotted at the Sydney Swans v Melbourne Demons game in at Sydney Cricket Ground. Before the game, the actress, 28, was also gifted her own number 21 Sydney Swans guernsey by Errol Gulden who shares the number, as well as AFL women’s player Taylor Smith.

Appearing on the broadcast alongside her father and friend Kelley McCartney, Sweeney’s AFL attendance has become a ritual for the star as she also attended a Sydney Swans game while filming Anyone but You in Sydney in 2023.

Bridge Climb

Perhaps the most ‘Sydney’ thing that Sydney could do was the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb.

On Sunday, the star rose to the challenge and ticked off a bucket list item that not many Sydney-siders have done themselves (myself included). The star was spotted posing for that classic bridge climb photo at the peak, which was the shared on adventure experience’s social media.

Boutique shopping in Bondi

Sydney Sweeney is officially a ToniMay jewellery customer. The star was reported by MAFS: After the Dinner Party host and ToniMay owner Laura Byrne to have bought two one-of-a-kind solid gold rings from the retailer’s Gould Street Bondi Beach store.

You can’t come to Sydney without perusing the boutiques in Bondi and it turns out Sweeney knew this tidbit too…and decided to get her shopping fix on a busy Sunday no less.

Let’s hope the crowds weren’t too hectic!
