Are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce engaged now?
Yes! As aforementioned, Taylor and Travis are officially engaged!!!
How did Taylor Swift announce her engagement?
In the early hours of August 27, 2025 (AEST), Taylor and Travis announced they were engaged.
The couple took to Instagram to do so, and wrote in a joint post:
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.”
Alongside this caption were several snaps of Taylor and Travis embracing in a beautiful rose garden (that’s actually Travis’ garden… more details on that below).
Did Travis Kelce just propose to Taylor Swift?
Travis didn’t *just* propose to Taylor; according to Travis’ dad, Ed Kelce, it happened on August 10, 2025.
“I think he proposed to her a week ago, last Sunday (August 10, 2025),” Ed recently said on 2DayFM’s The Jimmy & Nath Show with Emma.
But even though the proposal took place almost two weeks ago, Travis has had the ring for quite some time… Apparently Ed first saw it in “July, early July.”
“He (Travis) sent me a picture of the ring, this is a while ago. We kind of, family, both sides, kind of assumed that this was going to happen, because we’ve never seen our kids so happy,” Ed said.
“It’s kind of funny. I was talking to Scott Swift (Taylor’s dad), and Travis went to ask him for permission. And Scott, and this is, like, oh, probably a month ago, and Scott said, ‘Oh, come on, when are you gonna get this done?'”
Ed went on to share that the proposal happened in Travis’ garden.
“That’s a garden in his house. He surprised her with that. They were gonna go out to dinner and she was ready to go, he said, ‘Let’s go out in the garden. Let’s go out there on that little patio out there, and have a glass of wine before we go. We got time,’ and they went out there. And I think she knew something was up, because as they approached, she could see suddenly there’s a lot more flowers out there.”
Who made Taylor Swift’s engagement ring?
Travis proposed to Taylor with an old mine brilliant-cut diamond ring.
It was co-designed by Travis himself and jeweler Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine.
Reports suggest it’s 13 carats (which Swifties will know is a significant number to Taylor) and worth upwards of US$550,000 (roughly AU$847,000).
