Since winning The Bachelor last year, Irena Srbinovska quit her job to camp and hike around Australia in a loved-up bubble with Bachelor Locky Gilbert.
The couple is always posting pictures onto their Instagram to document their travels, but it didn’t take long for bachie fans to question how much Irena was really into this new lifestyle.
In an Instagram story, Q&A Irena decided it was time to debunk the rumour that she only pretends to enjoy hiking for the sake of her relationship.
Irena paired the anonymous question “Do you really like all the hiking?” with a picture of her and Locky standing on a rock from one of their hikes.
She responded, “I love hiking, I loved it before Locky and despite what others have said I actually did a lot of hiking before I met Locky.”
But before fans could query that the lady doth protest too much, the former nurse revealed a behind-the-scenes moment between Locky on the show that proves she always hiked.
“In fact, what you guys didn’t see is when I met Locky on the red carpet (before I knew anything other than his name) he asked me what my hobbies are and I said hiking and camping!” said Irena.
Australia can take solace because Irena is not being held hostage by the Bachelor and is actually living her best life.
Another follower asked Irene, “What’s your favourite thing about your man?”
In response, she posted a lengthy list of things that make her heart burst for Locky.
“So many things I love about this guy,” she started.
“He loves me for me and unconditionally.”
“He supports me and encourages me to follow my passions,” she said.
Not convinced that fans would believe her she made sure to state, “We don’t only do “WHAT LOCKY WANTS” as people think, he does a lot for me.”
She continued to list off other reasons she loves him, like feeling safe, protected, his relationship with her parents and because “he steps out of his comfort zone to do things that I love.”
It may be a while before Irena and Locky decide to add some babies to the Bachelor family because right now, their priority is to enjoy their relationship as it is.
In response to a question about the couple having children and getting married, Irena spilled, “Locky is my forever love, I can’t wait to be his wife and to have some babies with him.
“But we are not engaged yet and don’t worry I won’t be able to keep it a secret for long when it does happen.
“For right now we are so happy and in love.”
In a recent interview with Now To Love Irena and Locky spoke about what the couple have learnt about each during their travels.
“Irena’s the best at saying no! On the show it was all like, ‘She’s so nice!’ My mum was like, ‘Will she be able to say no to me?’ She doesn’t let me get away with anything,” the former Survivor star shared.
Locky also credited Irene for changing his life by supporting him through his health journey after years of neglecting that part of his life.
“I have just realised that before Irena, I’d never been to the doctor, never been to the dentist. And now in the last three months, I’ve been to the doctor’s twice, I’ve had my wisdom teeth pulled out, I’ve had my eyes checked,” he said.
“And you’ve done all of that on the road,” Irene proudly noted.
Even though some fans may be suspicious of the couple’s relationship, the two reality stars aren’t letting the whispers get to them as they continue to mind their business trekking Australia.
