The Beckham family’s highly publicised tensions have taken a dramatic turn this weekend.
Cruz Beckham took to Instagram to clarify recent reports that Brooklyn Beckham had been blocked by his parents, David and Victoria, on Instagram.
Instead, Cruz claims Brooklyn was the one who did the blocking. “Not true,” he wrote on an Instagram story of a news headline.
“My mum and dad would never unfollow their son..Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked…as did I.”

Why did Brooklyn Beckham block his family?
The post is the first time one of the family members have publicly acknowledged the tensions in what has been an increasingly fraught familial relationship between the eldest Beckham child and his parents.
It comes months after Cruz and his older brother Romeo unfollowed Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz on Instagram.
Sources have long flagged a growing rift within the famous family, which has roots stretching back several years, allegedly beginning with Nicola and Victoria.

What happened at Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding?
It’s rumoured Victoria had designed Nicola a wedding dress from her own designer label. But at the last minute, Nicola decided to wear a custom Valentino Haute Couture gown down the aisle, along with two others by Dior and Versace.
Things were made worse by the fact Victoria wasn’t involved in the wedding planning process, and the Beckham family not being invited to sit at the top table with the Peltz’s at the wedding reception.

Will the Beckhams spend Christmas together?
The divide became more publicly evident after Brooklyn and Nicola skipped David’s 50th birthday celebrations in May 2025, an absence that fueled speculation about the extent of the discord.
Family gatherings, once a mainstay of Beckham public appearances, have also been impacted. Neither David and Victoria attended Brooklyn and Nicola’s vow renewal ceremony earlier this year, and Brooklyn has been notably absent from recent major family milestones.
Brooklyn and Nicola are reportedly expected to spend this Christmas with her family in Florida, rather than with the Beckhams.
