Rumours of a feud between the Beckham family family and the Peltz-Beckham family have been swirling for years. However, Brooklyn has now lifted the lid on all the drama.
To review the Beckham family tree, Nicola, 30, is married to Victoria and David’s eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, 26. The two tied the knot in a lavish, multi-million dollar nuptials in April 2022, which is where the family feud rumours first began.
Fast forward four years and the “true” story has been revealed.

The Beckhams tend to maintain a united front on family matters, so it has been difficult to know whether or not the Beckham/ Peltz- Beckham feud rumours were actually true.

Starting with the most recent news first, here’s the mounting evidence of an alleged Beckham family feud…
January 19, 2025:
Lifting the lid on four years of drama, the 26-year-old insists he does not want to reconcile with his family.
The aspiring chef left no stone unturned in his six-slide statement and mentioned the wedding dress fiasco, the “inappropriate” first dance with his mum, and so much more.
Brooklyn’s statement began: “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private,”
“Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,” the 26-year-old continued.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”
Sharing more details about their wedding, Brooklyn claimed that Victoria “hijacked” his first dance with Nicola, saying some pretty scandalous things about Victoria.
“My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance, to a romantic love song,” he wrote.
“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife, but instead, my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,” he continued.
“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life”… that’s bound to be one awkward wedding video.
Speculation of drama between Victoria and Brooklyn’s now wife Nicola Peltz first started around the time of their wedding in 2022, something he also addressed in his statement.
Brooklyn claimed that his mum “cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design.”
He also claimed that he was told by members of his family that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family” in the lead up to their wedding.
Brooklyn believes that by standing up for himself, it opened him up to “endless attacks” from his parents both privately and publicly, even dragging his brothers into their feud too.
December 21, 2025: Cruz Beckham says his piece
Sharing an article written by the Daily Mail headlined: “David and Victoria UNFOLLOW estranged son Brooklyn, 26, as it’s revealed he’ll spend Christmas with wife Nicola Peltz’s billionaire parents amid family feud,” to his story- Cruz told his family’s side of things.
The 20-year-old wrote: “NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son… Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I.

December 17, 2025: Cruz Beckham extends an olive branch
Ahead of their reunion at Gordon Ramsay’s daughter’s wedding on December 29, Cruz Beckham has been extending an olive branch via social media to his big brother, Brooklyn.
Sharing pictures from his time in Brazil with girlfriend Jackie Apostel, the 20-year-old let his brother know that he is thinking of him and shared a throwback shot of the Beckham brothers posing as kids on a beach in Rio.
August 12, 2025: The Beckhams skip Nicola and Brooklyn’s vow renewal
In early August, Nicola and Brooklyn renewed their wedding vows. Brooklyn told People that the ceremony was a “beautiful” and “really cute memory.”
He then added, “To be honest, I could renew my vows every single day with her.”
But on August 12, feud rumours ramped up again after Nicola shared several snaps from the vow renewal – and Brooklyn’s parents and siblings were noticeably missing from the pictures.
The comments section of Nicola’s Instagram post was rife with speculation. “Where are his Parents in these pictures …??? [sic],” one user wrote.
“You redid your wedding without your in laws?,” another commented.
However, in his January 19 statement, Brooklyn set the record straight on the reason why.
Brooklyn claims their disaster wedding was one of the reasons why chose to renew their vows.
“We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment,” he wrote.
I mean, you can’t blame them for that if everything he wrote is true!
June 10, 2025: Brooklyn reportedly cuts ties with his family
TMZ reported Brooklyn is on a ‘time out’ from his family, with an insider claiming he “told his family he wants no contact and he’s not responding to those that try to connect.” This came amid news of David Beckham‘s knighthood, on which Brooklyn is still yet to comment.
June 6, 2025: Nicola stands up to Brooklyn’s “toxic” parents
A rare glimpse into the possible Peltz side of the story, TMZ reported the reason for the feud is that Nicola is not having the way her husband is treated by his parents.
An alleged source told the tabloid that the Beckham’s daughter in law is tired of her in laws’ “narcisstic” and “performative” treatment of their son. The source also claimed that David “verbally berates” Brooklyn over the phone, and Victoria ‘tries to smooth things over’ by immediately sending Nicola a loving text.
The source also claimed that Nicola and Brooklyn “have made themselves available for months and months to discuss all of the ongoing drama,” but that David and Victoria are the ones refusing to cooperate “because [Nicola] always talks back to them and stands up for Brooklyn.”
June 3, 2025: Nicola and Brooklyn hire a lawyer to combat misinformation
In early June, Nicola and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham enlisted the aid of a lawyer; at least, that’s what E! News reported. The lawyer, Jeni Afi, is famous for crisis management, and has also worked with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
However, sources maintain it’s strictly to combat misinformation. “It’s not for reputation management, but to set the record straight, combat spread of misinformation,” the source told E!.
May 25, 2025: Brooklyn to Nicola, “I will always choose you”
As if there weren’t enough people fanning the flames of a rift in the Beckham family, Brooklyn himself has appeared to acknowledge the feud by taking to Instagram with a video of him and Nicola on a motorbike. The caption? “My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby.”
A quick glance at the comments section and it seems many are keen to point out the choice of words amid the ongoing family fallout.
May 11, 2025: Family feud is Victoria’s “worst nightmare”
A source told The Sun that Brooklyn’s growing distance from his family is “Victoria’s worst nightmare”.
“The thought of any of her children falling out gives her sleepless nights,” the source said.
“It’s been difficult with Brooklyn since he met Nicola, and there’s no denying that there was a family fallout over their wedding. But Victoria and David have worked hard to get things back on track, so this is a real blow,” they continued, referencing Brooklyn’s absence from David’s birthday.
May 3, 2025: Brooklyn and Nicola didn’t attend David’s 50th birthday — but why?
Despite flying from their hometown of Los Angeles to London specifically to attend the birthday of Brooklyn’s father, David Beckham, the Peltz-Beckhams weren’t seen by anyone at any of the events, which spanned multiple days.
Their absence was seemingly confirmed by David, who posted a series of photos to Instagram, none of which featured Brooklyn or his wife, despite featuring all of his other children.
However, the reason Nicola and Brooklyn weren’t in attendance wasn’t due to any rumoured feud between Victoria and Nicola — it was allegedly due to the presence of Romeo’s new girlfriend, Kim Turnbull.
It’s been alleged that Brooklyn and Nicola didn’t want to see this particular guest, who may or may not have dated Brooklyn in the past. Despite differing reports on whether they were romantically linked, a source claimed that, “Brooklyn didn’t want to be in the same room as [Turnbull], and he told his dad that. But David opted to have Kim there over Nicola.”
Another source simply said that Brooklyn was questioning Turnbull’s motives for dating two members of the same prominent family. Romeo and Kim split by the end of May.
On top of being absent from David’s birthday, Brooklyn didn’t even acknowledge the special occasion on Instagram. This struck fans as strange, given the Beckhams tend to frequently share celebratory messages for each other on their social media. Some have suggested this is further evidence of a growing issue with the whole family.
Needless to say, this did nothing to dispel rumours of a rift in the family.
February 2024: Victoria attends Nicola’s film premiere
There had been a handful of appearances of both Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltz over 2023 and 2024, but a key one was when Victoria attended the premiere of Nicola’s directorial debut, Lola.
Nicola wore a custom white Victoria Beckham suit, and posed alongside her smiling mother in law. Victoria also followed this up with an Instagram post from the event, on which she wrote:
“[Nicola] we could not be more proud of you! Congratulations on your incredible film, Lola. Officially in theatres February 9th Kisses.”
Nicola followed this up with a comment, writing, “love you beyond. thank you for supporting me tonight and also i’m so obsessed with my custom VB look.”
October 2023: Nicola attends Beckham premiere
By the end of 2023, rumours of a feud had mostly died down, with Nicola attending the premiere of David Beckham’s Netflix documentary, Beckham, about his career.
April 2023: Victoria celebrates Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding anniversary
In case there was any lingering tension following the wedding, Victoria Beckham appeared to show it the door while celebrating the happy couple’s first wedding anniversary.
Posting a photo to Instagram, Victoria wrote: “So special to be together to celebrate your 1st wedding anniversary 💕 we love you.”
January 2023: Victoria wishes Nicola a happy birthday
‘Seriously, what feud?’, you may ask. Victoria quashed rumours again by sharing public well-wishes with birthday girl Nicola on Instagram.
October 2022: Nicola confirms “It’s not a feud!”
In an interview with The Times, Nicola attempted to silence feud rumours once and for all. “It’s not a feud! I keep seeing everywhere that word, ‘feud, feud, feud!?’ I mean, maybe they picked up on something? And now they’re labelling it feud?” she told the publication.
“I think it all started, and I’ve said this before, because I didn’t end up wearing Victoria’s wedding dress, but the real truth is, I really, really wanted to wear it and I thought it was so beautiful that Brooklyn’s mum got to make that for me! And I was really excited to wear it! And I didn’t end up wearing it,” she continued.
“Truthfully, I was really excited to wear her dress. It makes me sad when I read things that people say I was never planning on wearing it. That’s just not true.”
September 30, 2022: The Peltz-Beckhams attend Victoria Beckham runway show
Putting beef rumours to rest (again), Nicola Peltz Beckham attended Victoria Beckham’s spring/summer 2023 runway show in Paris alongside her husband and the rest of the Beckham family.
August 10, 2022: Brooklyn denies feud between Victoria and Nicola
In a join interview with Variety, Nicola and Brooklyn denied a family feud. “I’ve learned they’re always going to try to write stuff like that,” he said of the press. “They’re always going to try and put people down. But everyone gets along, which is good.”
Meanwhile, in the same interview, Nicola confirmed the reason she didn’t wear a Victoria Beckham dress on her wedding day was because “she [Victoria] realised that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress.”
August 2022: Nicola dubbed ‘The New Mrs Beckham’
Shortly after the wedding, Nicola appeared on the cover of Tatler alongside the headline, ‘The New Mrs Beckham’. Some perceived this as a slight toward Victoria amid their growing feud rumours.
In the cover article, Nicola also made a few choice comments that appeared to centre the importance of her family, and distance her and Brooklyn from the Beckhams. For one, she said she’d never live in London — where Brooklyn is from and where his family resides.
She also said that Brooklyn often asks her father — the mega-wealthy investor, Nelson Peltz — for business advice. Some interpreted this as another diss towards the Beckhams, who all have their own business ventures.
July 2022: The Peltz tattoo
In July, Brooklyn unveiled a sizeable tattoo reading ‘Peltz’ sprawled across his chest. Given this was amid peak feud rumour, fans took the opportunity to pounce on this proud association with the Peltz family.
Nicola only fuelled this fire when she shared a photo of the tattoo, with the comment: “I’m so happy you’re a Peltz”. Of course, Brooklyn took Nicola’s last name, and she his, on their wedding day — making them both Peltz-Beckhams.
April 2022: Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s wedding
You could practically make a book out of all the rumours that plagued the Peltz-Beckham wedding. However, in the press, the alleged main source of the beef comes from two key things:
1. Nicola didn’t wear a Victoria Beckham wedding dress
This is reportedly where it all kicked off. Per tabloids, the ‘feud’ began after Nicola allegedly refused to wear a design by Victoria Beckham to her wedding.
While Nicola has completely denied this rumour, claiming a manufacturing hold-up was the reason she didn’t wear a VB dress, fans have pointed out that Peltz’s wedding was a lavish, three-day affair. There were multiple events to which Nicola could have worn a design by Victoria Beckham, but didn’t. Then there’s the next rumour…
2. The Beckhams weren’t involved in the wedding
It’s not so much that they ‘weren’t involved’, as they were allegedly shut out. Sources have said the Beckhams were barred from planning, pinning the blame on the bride, Nicola.
A 2023 documentary, Peltz Beckhams Vs The Wedding Planners, about the legal dramas surrounding the nuptials alleged that Nicola and her mother, Claudia Peltz, deliberately tried to keep Victoria Beckham out of the wedding planning. The Beckhams also weren’t present on the main table, which was filled with Nicola’s family alongside the bride and groom.
“The top table was all Peltz’s and it really felt as though the Beckhams were not at the forefront,” a source told The Daily Mail. “There was a feeling that the wedding was all about the Peltz family, as you can imagine, as it was their house and their daughter and their son making the speeches.”
Furthermore, it was reported that the Beckhams weren’t invited to sit at the top table with the bride and groom, which was reportedly filled with members of Nicola’s family.
There was also reportedly a situation in which Marc Anthony (friend of the Beckhams) performed at the ceremony, and called Victoria the “most beautiful woman in the room tonight”, leaving the bride running from the event in tears.
Following the wedding, Nicola also posted a slew of photos from her big day, but David and Victoria weren’t in any of the pics — and also didn’t like or comment on them.

When did Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s feud start?
The alleged feud is said to have started during Nicola and Brooklyn’s wedding, when Nicola refused to wear a wedding dress designed by Victoria.
Nicola has since confirmed this is where the feud rumours began — but denied that there was any truth in them.
As aforementioned, Nicola told Variety in 2022: “I was going to and I really wanted to [wear a Victoria Beckham dress], and then a few months down the line, she realised that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress… She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that.”
Prior to the wedding, there was nothing but good vibes between Victoria and Nicola.
Way back in 2020, after Brooklyn and Nicola announced their engagement, Victoria had nothing but lovely things to say about her prospective daughter-in-law.
“[Nicola] is just wonderful,” she said during a December 2020 appearance on the talk show Lorraine.
