MAFS bride Brook Crompton is engaged and expecting a baby, but it’s not with her husband Chris Nield from the show. Instead, the 27-year-old model has just announced she’s back with her ex, 28-year-old builder Harry.
“I had a dream that I was pregnant. I woke up and thought, ‘That was crazy,’ but I did a pregnancy test… and it was positive!” Brook exclusively told Woman’s Day.
But hold on… how did we get here?
The last we’d seen of Brook was at the Commitment Ceremony where she decided to stay and work on her relationship with Chris. So, let’s backtrack a second.
Has Brook left MAFS?
While we haven’t seen Brook and Chris leave the show, we know that the marriage imploded in the second week due to an off-screen “incident”.
The show was recorded last year, so while we don’t know the exact episode the two strangers called it quits, we do know it’s soon. Like, this week soon.
Brook reportedly reunited with her ex Harry only two weeks after she left the MAFS experiment, with the model admitting to the experts during the casting process that she had only been single mere days before signing up for the experiment.
However, her and Harry’s breakup occurred three months before production of the show began, so it’s unclear whether he was the only Brook had just broke up with before she applied for the show and there was a lull between application and production, or if another man was on the scene as well.
Did Brook’s new fiancé cheat on her?
On the show, Brook explained that her real-life dating history was peppered with infidelity, but she claims that’s not the reason she and Harry broke up.
“There wasn’t infidelity – Harry would never. It wasn’t a toxic ending or anything. He was just so busy with work,” Brook said.
However, he did break up with her.
“He had to put in the hard yards, because he broke up with me,” Brook told Woman’s Day. “But no, really we were both like, ‘OK, if it didn’t work back then, what are we going to do to make it work now?’” she says. “But Harry invited me away to the Maldives a couple of weeks later for a surfing trip with his family friends and that just cemented things for me.
“We just had the most beautiful time. We were better than we had ever been.”
Brook compared new beau Harry to MAFS’ Chris
While she didn’t refer directly to her ‘husband’ Chris, Brook did make a pointed comment that Harry would never “fat shame” anyone – with Chris caught red-handed during his casting application video.
“I guess it made me realise how amazing Harry is. He’s nothing like that person I married on MAFS,” Brook explained.
“He’d never fat-shame a woman or speak about anyone badly. He sees the beauty in everyone.
“I’ve actually never been with someone that speaks about women that poorly. So right from the get-go, I was like, ‘This person is not for me.’ It was very much like, I’ve been paired with this person for TV ratings.”
Brook fell pregnant three months after reuniting with ex
In November last year, Brook dreamt that she was pregnant and, on a whim, decided to take a test.
“I woke up and thought, ‘That was crazy,’ but I did a pregnancy test… and it was positive!” she said, explaining she took several more tests to be sure.
A psychic had told the pair they would have a baby together, and Harry claimed he “always thought she would be the mother of my children”.
MAFS Brook and new partner Harry got engaged on Christmas Day
Harry said he had been planning to propose to Brook as soon as the pair got back from the Maldives with his family and friends, and decided to do it in Aspen, Colorado on Christmas Day.
Brook said she “genuinely wasn’t expecting it”.
“It was so beautiful. So special. He hid it so well.”
“We’ve got a whole life ahead of us now. We’re engaged, we’ve got a bubba on the way. We’ve got everything we’ve always wanted!”
